Thanks, Graham. Is there a particular reason you don't use those features (Update EPG button & EPG Update Hour)?

I'm still holding on doing anything since whurlston said there were some database problems (#11, above). I'll wait to hear back from the gurus in this forum & thread.

The db problem is you have to re-add your channels to the device. I thought the issue was determining whether or not TV Listings plugin worked with sub's integrated Schedules Direct download or not.

Your thirst for knowledge is admirable Smile

I have a line in the batch file to test the size of the xmltv file. If there is a problem with the EPG data source and the xmltv file is too small then the batch file ends and the NextPVR database is not changed. I do the EPG update manually so that I can see what's going on. (I don't really trust computers ... I suspect that they are all controlled by the gremlin king who sends his minions to infiltrate machines and to spread confusion and to make us all very ill).

@mvallevand: AH! I didn't realize that was the db problem. I am currently re-scanning my channels and will re-map them to the Schedules Direct data once the scan completes.

@Graham: I appreciate healthy suspicion and distrust of computers. I think computers are really good at doing what we ask them to do. The problem is, we're not very good at being specific about what we want!

I'll reply when the channel scan/mapping completes.

Quick side question: Is there a command-line option or some other way to quickly access NPVR's Settings? The only way I know of is to launch the GUI, right-click, and select Settings.

Update: Rescanning the channels and re-mapping them worked as expected. I now see Guide data in both the GUI and web interface. Thanks for the help, everyone.

NextPVR provides only the right click method. All settings are stored in config.xml (I edit with Notepad) and npvr.db3 (I edit with SQLite Manager).

I also have my batch file check if the xmltv file is too small but I then have it revert back to yesterdays xmltv file & if it is too small it then sends/copies me a warning file that I will see that it has done this so.... then if I want to I can investigate the cause (often I just leave it for the next days update to see if it happens again before looking at what went wrong). This is all run for the automatic built in NextPVR update in the middle of the night via the UpdateEPG.bat.
