When previously using the XMLTV input from Radio Times the schedule for weekend programmes would often change several times before the day......result is I'd get two or three concurrent recordings scheduled for the same programme...just a few minutes apart. Always had to be manually sorted out by deleting the extras. I was hoping that by using the over the air EPG and the live update feature that could be avoided so I too would like to see it working properly. Appreciate it may be more challenging for Sub given he's not in the UK and doesn't get our TV streams

I use EPGcollector to extract the Freeview broadcast EPG data and create a XML file to import into NextPVR. The reason I do this is because EPGcollector extracts the "Unique Programme ID" which is used by NextPVR to "avoid duplicate recordings". In the 18 months I have been doing this using the overnight EPG data I only recall twice missing the end of a programme using 3 minutes pre and post padding and in both cases only lost the credits.

I use (Alan Birtles) XMLTVGUI and have not seen this problem for a long time.

I thought the point of this setting was to prevent a conflict with running a scheduled EPG update when watching livetv or recording a show.
I was never expecting it to dynamically update the EPG whilst I am watching liveTV (or whilst it is recording). Whilst this sounds neat, it also sounds very difficult to accomplish and a lot of work for the odd time when they change the schedule during the day. Like you jcjefferies, I can barely recall when I last lost a recording because they moved it.

Personally I just wanted to ensure that people don't run into db locking problems, that's all.

I only see it extremely rarely (and usually a sporting event) since dropping the grab to 7 days from 14. New pending server is grabbing from Atlas now though - takes considerably longer to get it all.
