tipmeister, I hope this is just a bit of a pain, and nothing more serious!
About designing skins...I only have a measly 25" TV to test on, my 27" is too far away in another room.
The stuff I've been doing, looks pretty good on a computer monitor, and the smaller TV, but I have NO idea what it would look like on anything bigger.
What's this about "flat" skins for MCE?
Making stuff work, with the visual effect one wants, is relatively easy, using the default Blue as a template. But everyone seems to want EVERY plugin from Wiki to work flawlessly, with every skin.
Obviously (or maybe it isn't), this is a huge task for the skin designer.
Just when I think I've covered most of the bases, someone comes along with a different plugin/version, and yet 3 more people email me, asking for thisorthat skin to be "adjusted" to work with yetanothernewfangled plugin.
If I did nothing else all day, but load up every plugin, and then port my skins for all of them, I'd be restarting the service so much, I'd never get to record anything, nor would I ever get to do any editing, authoring, or burning.
I'm thinking about setting up another system, just so that this one can do what I normally do, and do all the skin stuff on the other one...but then I have to figure out how to clone myself, or go without food and sleep for weeks at a time I have a feeling my wife and kids would phone the police, reporting a stranger using their dad's computer.
