Are you talking about C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\UpdateEPG.bat? If this file exists, NextPVR will run it each night as part of the overnight EPG update.

For channels that a configured to obtain EPG data from an XMLTV file, a typical process would be to create an updateepg.bat that runs a process to grab data from a source on the Internet and create a file containing the XMLTV data.

NextPVR will automatically run the updateepg.bat before it reads the XMLTV file to update the EPG data in the NextPVR database. The updateepg.bat will run under the SYSTEM username used by the NextPVR Recording Service. You need to ensure that the batch file contains explicit CD commands and full folder path definitions. Typically, the EPG update (including the updateepg.bat) will be run automatically at the time specified at Settings --> Misc2.

Why once a week. Now I grant you that today's Guide and tomorrow"s Guide will not change 98% of he time. But further out there will be changes made, especially at the local level.

So it seems sometime in the last week, Zap2it.com changed it's format, now the zap2xml fails with 500 server errors. I've emailed the creator but no response so far. Does anyone know a good free alternative?

Edit: Very strange, turns out the utility still works. there's just one program causing it to fail:

EP007501780016: Dr. Who Lost Episode Christmas Special.

Damn those Daleks. Sad

I removed BBC America as a channel for now and seems to work ok now.

I'm getting the exact same thing. When you say you "removed BBC America as a channel," exactly where did you remove it from? I do not have it on my channel listing for neither HDHOMERUN nor Nextpvr. So, where did you go to remove it? I've been fighting this for weeks now. Thanks for your help.

I take my nevermind back. It is still stopping at that episode with the 500 Internal Server Error.

Well, I found that the Daleks made me for get to check the box to show only my Favs in the grid. It ran successfully. However, it will not update past one day even though I placed a 7 after -d in the updateepg.bat file. It worked for months for me flawlessly. Now, I am having problems with it. What step am I missing? I followed the original post to the T.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I also have gotten the error, and for me it's a Doctor Who episode on the Canadian Space network. I've tried removing Space from my favorite list, but I'm still getting the error. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I assume after the show plays on December 25th, it will start working until the next show gives it an error.

EDIT: It's another episode now after removing Space - I will say that it still runs properly if I don't utilize the detailed mode.
