So you are going to change because the main screen looks a little blurry
Feel like I'm missing something?

Nah, just looking at options really. I'm not likely to change soon, but I am going to start doing some investigation.

Lol, "a better TV", quote of the day. True; one with USB ports (to power the Pi) and more HDMI Ports and a clearer/sharper output. I should probably also get my contact prescription checked first too while I am it Big Grin
I wasn't complaining about the Video TBH, just having a wee grizzle about the main screen. I guess I was hoping for a little more sharpness almost 10 years on from the PCH, that's all. The Kids don't care, after all it's just the main screen ... Smile

Have you set the video output to optimum in the kodi settings ?

l believe so but if you have a screencap of what section should be changed ?

This is where I believe I changed it:
"System/Add-Ons/My Add-ons/Program Addons/X-Newa/Configure/X-Newa Client/Web Client/Screen Resolution (mine is 1280x720) and Enable High Quality Screen Resolution (mine is on)."

Does the TV have a vertical resolution of 720? I would have expected either 576 or 480 (for SD) or 1080 (for HD). My understanding is that 720 is a broadcasters gimmick that allows them to claim HD while using less bandwidth.

When it starts Kodi (or the PCH for that matter) it displays "720"

525 (480) / 60i 15.73 59.94
525 (480) /60p 31.47 59.94
750 (720) /60p 45.00 59.94
1,125 (1,080) /60i 33.75 59.94
1,125 (1,080)/60p 67.43 59.94
1,125 (1,080)/60p 67.50 60.00

Manual says "The HDMI input terminal can be used with only the following image signals: 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p. Match the output setting of the digital device."

My thought was that the "native" resolution for the TV might be 1080 and that you might get the "best" picture by setting software to display at 1080.

What medel TV is it
you match the native res to the input for the best picture
But do it in main kodi settings first http://kodi.wiki/view/Settings/System
