Ok good to know, I've posted so many times asking people to post logs and I don't want people to start being afraid to do this.

Thanks for getting back to me.

1deep, you're probably going to need to post a kodi.log, with debug logging enabled, so we can see what happens when you try to start kodi.

It is normal to see ffmpeg in Kodi debug logs if ffmpeg component logging is turned on. The ffmpeg engine is used a lot for rendering skins, sounds etc.

This is why I wanted to see the log.

No worries Martin you're a legend around here it just sucks that I publicly posted a log with my info that hundreds of people viewed. I will say that this seems to be exclusive to that iptv service because it's consistent across multiple devices in different locations but only with external programs like kodi and emby so I'll get some debug logs together. Thanks for the help.

That's with both trying to start at 1st with tuner not available then successful channel playing after recording service restart.

Unfortunately without the backend logs or a clear understanding of the problem there is not much to say. The ffmpeg messages in there are the normal kodi messages so you can turn of ffmpeg component logging to make it easier to see the messages. To help further use Real Time streaming and use the Estuary skin and upload the new logs (editing if you need to) and I can have a look.

Also do you have Kodi set to autostart Live TV?

Sorry for the delay been working a lot. Changed to estuary and real time and no autostart live tv and I always wait until the channel manager and epg finish loading everything before I try to click on a channel.

Ok I see it failing to open a couple of channels but without the NextPVR log we can't tell why that is. There doesn't seem to be any Kodi issue, it is just responding to the codes from NextPVR

Ok I'll recreate the error with the nextpvr logs. The failure comes with me opening kodi and trying channels without restarting the recording service. Then restarting the recording service and having all channels start to work.

Man A51+NPVR+Kodi is a pain in the ass. NPVR works better alone but I like Kodi's interface. So A51 overhauled their epg and added some weird channel groups and it really caused chaos. Kodi crashes at startup unless I remove some groups in npvr but when I do kodi hates that too unless I do a clear data on live tv. It also seems certain groups were causing this whole issue with me having to restart the recording service at startup this whole time because removing some fixed that. So it seems like it's all about the weird groups they add and probably the epg xml format's a problem. I gotta stop being lazy about setting up schedules direct. Here's the logs and the epg xml if you guys want to have a go at it.
