If you'd installed NextPVR in an earlier release, with Schedules Direct you might need to enter this url into your browser:

http://localhost:8866/service?method=set...d.clearart

Then do an Update EPG, and hopefully it'll then default to bigger artwork for you.

This is because artwork decisions for each show when they were first seen in the guide data.

Just repeated...

- disabled all art sources except SD
- purged imaged cache
- restarted NPVR service
- navigated to NPVR web home page

got the following for BGT

Poster: 480 x 720
Fanart: 1280x720
Landscape: 480x270

Try the above comment about method=setting.sd.clearart to see if it helps.

FYI, If I manually select a high res (different photo) then repeat the purge/restart service process it then pulls down the lower res (original photo).

I don't usually use Schedules Direct (since it's service doesn't have New Zealand listings), but I'll load up a line up here and check BGT

I haven't double checked by I think the same problem occurs if I disable SD and use one of the other providers. Will confirm once I'm back at the PC.

scrap that, the other sources don't appear to have higher resolution options anyway so the issue is probably limited to SD.

The application does prefer SD artwork if you have it, because it's always for the correct show. The other artwork sources are a search by name, which often the correct show, but sometimes not.

SD provides lots of artwork for each show, categorized different ways. When it comes to the landscape images, it's looking for the 16:9 images, preferably with a show title on the image.

In the case of BGT, the biggest 16:9 image with a title on it, is 480x270. They do have some slightly bigger 16:9 images, but they're cast-ensemble ones, which is the cast just posed with no show title. The biggest 16:9 they provide for this show is 1280x720 cast ensemble, and this is what it has chosen for the fanart.

I see, is it possible to add an option to prioritise resolution regardless if the image contains the show title. The landscape art is chosen in Kodi for the backdrop rather than the fanart so it'd be preferable to have a fanart style landscape image anyway.
