ok ive got good news and bad news,

good news is, thanks to subs help (he helped a hell of a lot here), the popup menu is now configurable via the config application (you can drag and drop all the items and create submenus etc, just like you can with the "Plugins" part in the config app).

bad news is, i had to redo the entire videomenu because of this, which means well it may be buggy at first (im trying to get them all but, never going to happen) and skin changes (it will work fine with a myvids 4.1.x skin, you just wont see those images in the popup menu (the task images i call em)).

so this will be released as 4.2.0.0.

ive seperated all the task images for the popup menu into their own skin file, called "TaskImages.xml", it just a big long list of compositeimages (each image correspsonds the the buttons name eg "Play DVD" button looks for a composite image called "Play DVD" etc). heres a sample
Code:
<settings>
    <!-- Composite Images -->
    <CompositeImages>
        <!-- static background image -->
        <CompositeImage name="Back" size="128,128">
            <DrawImage filename="back.png" loc="0,0" size="128,128"/>
        </CompositeImage>

        <CompositeImage name="Cancel" size="128,128">
            <DrawImage filename="back.png" loc="0,0" size="128,128"/>
        </CompositeImage>

        <CompositeImage name="Play" size="128,128">
            <DrawImage filename="video.png" loc="0,0" size="128,128"/>
        </CompositeImage>

        <CompositeImage name="Shuffle Play" size="128,128">
            <DrawImage filename="video.png" loc="0,0" size="128,128"/>
        </CompositeImage>

        <CompositeImage name="Play Video" size="128,128">
            <DrawImage filename="video.png" loc="0,0" size="128,128"/>
        </CompositeImage>

        <CompositeImage name="Play Movie" size="128,128">
            <DrawImage filename="video.png" loc="0,0" size="128,128"/>
        </CompositeImage>

        <CompositeImage name="Play DVD Folder" size="128,128">
            <DrawImage filename="video.png" loc="0,0" size="128,128"/>
        </CompositeImage>

        <CompositeImage name="Play ISO" size="128,128">
            <DrawImage filename="video.png" loc="0,0" size="128,128"/>
        </CompositeImage>

        <!-- Info Menu -->
        <CompositeImage name="Information" size="128,128">
            <DrawImage filename="amazon.png" loc="0,0" size="128,128"/>
        </CompositeImage>

        <CompositeImage name="IMDB" size="128,128">
            <DrawImage filename="imdb.png" loc="0,0" size="128,128"/>
        </CompositeImage>
    </CompositeImages>
</settings>

hopefully ill have another version out tomorrow, and im going to need a few people to test this the popup menu throughly.

so again, it will work fine with a skin from my vids 4.1.x, just the task images will be missing, but it will work.

- "Menus" option in config, allows you to easily reorder the popup menu
- bugs! (chances are there will be a couple i missed)
- skin changes (yeah i know it sucks, it should still work with 4.1.x skins, but there are skin changes, an updated blue skin is included)

can a few people download this and try out all the popup options etc, go over that, reorder the menu etc, and see if you find any bugs.

skinners - the popup section in the skin.xml has be completely removed (and a new specialelement has been created for the popup menus attributes, the button position, number of buttons shown etc). just look at the blue skin supplied for the changes, it should take more than 5 minutes to update a skin.

Good stuff, normal functionality I use seems to work great. The episode lookup and browse are working better than ever. I was never able to get Episode Lookup to work before with any version (I tend to store my episodes in season # subfolders), but this one worked great for Enterprise and Smallville episodes.

btw, what does the stacking functionality do? Stupid question I'm sure, but I've never quite been able to figure it out.

Only problem I've found so far is in the Config menu. I don't use the Burn DVD functionality and I'm getting the following error when I try to remove the Burn DVD submenu from the config

************** Exception Text **************
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

err to remove them, just uncheck the items. and does that error popup when you try and remove the "burn" submenu (ie "burn" is highlighted, and you click the "remove sub menu" button), or are you clicking "remove submenu" when you have say "burn to disc" highlighted?

stacking is just like a simple playlist
- off (will just play *this* files)
- simple (will look for videos with same subtitle, are current one eg "episode part 2" then after it, it will play "episode part 3" (but wont play "episode part 1" since its prior to current video)
- series (will play every file with the same title (ie show name) after and including the current one)
- random (or is it "rand"? i think i ran out of room) will play every video file in the current directory in a random order (handy for music videos).

when a heading like "burn to disc" is highlighted, the remove submenu button is greyed out. I got the error when I have the "Burn" folder highlighted and click remove submenu. When I deselected all the heading under the "Burn" menu, it seemed to have no effect (Burn ISO, Burn to Disc, etc still showed up onscreen). I figured I'd just completely remove the submenu completely and that's when I got the error.

fixed the "remove submenu"/"add submenu" buttons.

can people just say what skin they are using and if it works the same as it did with my videos 4.1.x (of course the task images wont be there for the submenu, but does the submenu still function how it should ? etc).

I *finally* have MyVids working on my PVR (YAY!), and I've installed the beta plugin posted above (from 24.6.05 ~mid-afternoon CT) but I'm not able to bring up submenus using GO on my remote - F11 works wonderfully when I'm terminaled to my PVR (it's stand-alone - no monitor/mouse/keyboard attached). I didn't know if this is a bug. My PVR also seems to lock up sometimes when I'm trying to do a show or thumbnail lookup on TV.com (specifically for the U.S. TV show "House"). Thanks for helping me get this up & running - I'm loving this as an addition to my PVR.

if f11 works on keyboard, but "go" doesnt work, its usually becuase of either irremote.ini isnt setup correctly, or you need to change the batteries in the remote. the remote just should send the exact command same command as f11 does, so it wont be a problem with the plugin.

for house, whats the exact problem you are having? tv.com doesnt have a "thumbnail lookup" feature (it will use the show poster if found). and you can't create a thumbnail on an mpeg2/mpeg1 file (not 100% sure about mpeg1, but cant for mpeg2).

ill look into house aswell (i like that show, hugh laurie is funny; good old prince regent Smile)

also are you still using the standard blue skin, and the updated skin in the my videos zip (just want to make sure thats working fine aswell).

I just checked my .ini file; GO={f11} is the entry. Everything else works fine on the remote; I'll have to check into it further. Maybe the button doesn't work. I'm using the updated skin in the zip with the standard blue skin.

When I did a lookup for House on TV.com, I waited ~10 minutes, then checked my terminal connection to see if there problems. I got a .Net JIT debugger that said the system was out of memory. I couldn't close GBPVR; I did a warm boot of the system. I have a 1GB paging file on the boot partition and a 2GB paging file on a separate hard drive (for performance). It may have nothing to do with TV.com or even House; this happened to me three times (twice after I made my entry above). Each time I had done a TV.com lookup for a different show successfully before doing another lookup for another show (once Good Eats, once for VH1's InsideOut). My Amazon and IMDB lookups are fast and successful (10-20 seconds); successful lookups on TV.com seem to be slower (30-60 seconds). I'm on 3MB broadband cable and 100MB LAN.

(This is such a different part for Hugh Laurie - I'm used to the characters from Black Adder and Jeeves and Wooster, too Smile)
