Is the SDF file the DB? Does it make sense it's only 1MB?

I also remember something about requiring a tuner to finalize the setup of MCE.

My dev machine does not have a tuner, and I can't actually get MCE configured fully. But I did copy the reg keys from my working machine over...

I'm tired and don't know what I read in that log but I didn't notice the loader hash error. That error means that your currently configured headend could not be found in the database. Have you got the guide to work in the MCE UI?

MCE Query automatically loads the current EPG database. Go to "Extras" -> "Tables" -> "source" and see if your headend is listed. If it's not, that would return the loader hash error. It usually means the guide is not fully configured and downloaded.

Look, like I stated at the begining, my whole MCe install, with fooling it to think I have a tuner, might be the culprit. However, if it's that or something else - I wish I had a way to pinpoint, so I know what to try and fix.

Copy the mce Downloader and Exporter into the Windows/ehome directory. Copy the attached text file there too, but remove the .txt extension so that it's just a batch file.

Run that and see if it works. If it doesn't, I'll bet it's something to do with MCE in a VMWare... As whurlston asked, does the MCE interface run?

EDIT: oh and edit the batch file to use your own HeadEnd

If that's your complete log on the downloader, the guide is not being downloaded. Possible because your headend value is wrong or because te guide is not initialized. The complete log should look like:
Code:
Headend State: Connecting.
Connection State: Checking connection.
Connection State: Connected.
Connection State: Unknown.
Headend State: Downloading.
Headend State: Complete.

Guide reset!

New guide options set!
Downloading new listings
New guide options set!
Downloading new listings
Connection State: Checking connection.
Connection State: Connected.
Connection State: Unknown.

ATSC State: Initializing.
ATSC State: Connecting.
Connection State: Checking connection.
Connection State: Connected.
Connection State: Unknown.
ATSC State: Downloading.
ATSC State: Processing.
ATSC State: Complete.
ATSC State: Inactive.

Guide Updated!
(Ignore the ATSC state block unless ATSC tuners are configured.)

Run "Mce05EpgDownloader.exe list" and post the output.

If the batch file won't work with the utils right out of the ehome folder , it's probably no tuner.

You could back up part of the registry and try importing a working branch (I could send you)

I backed up eveyrthing in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center

On my dev machine, when I run MCE it complains there's no tuners, but I can get past the errors and still see the guide...

Could someone zip & post an MCE xmltv output file for me?
Even a couple days of data would be fine, I just want to run it through I-xmltv to see if the version I'm working on will work with both the Y! and MCE grabbers.
Thanks

Could not find headend ID: 0005470-

Maybe PM me your postal code and the lineup you want

It only searches for the headend IDs in the postal code configured in MCE.
