Darn, I thought the recent updates to the common utilities would fix the audio. Great video, but I have no audio either. It USED to work....

k.
[EDIT] - Scotch that, I rebooted remotely using VNC and now audio works... BUT the Quality options have now gone ..weirder and weirder.,.

Just to give everyone an update....I am close to having this integrated into the EWA.....I am currently working on ensuring the VLC process on the server gets killed correctly and getting the browser plugins to work correctly....they are only 1/2 working now. External Player option is working but I need to complete the killing of the vlc process that streams.

Unable to stream a recorded show - here is the error info:

Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --><configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web></configuration>
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --><configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web></configuration>

are you trying a truly server-side approach to managing the process? i'm sure you laughed at the hack of an approach i used before... but at least it worked fine for me Smile

Approach is similar......most of the Java Script code is gone and now lives in code-behind pages. In .Net 2.0 the RegisterStartupScript is depreciated so I had to figure out different ways to do the same thing.

Hi all;

I have the v80 webstreamer, enhanced webadmin, GVPVR 96.12 (I know, but I've not had time to update things to .net 2.0 and I have the PVR350 which seemed to have troubles initially)

Anyway I have everything working with this combo, for web streaming of recorded files when I'm on my laptop OX X 10.4.5, using VLC, and "spawn external player" within webstreamer.

However, it only works from within my LAN.

I have a NetBSD box set up to provide ssh connects and port forwarding, and I *can* make the webadmin work just fine if I start up the tunnel with a ssh terminal (putty or whatever) and do the port forwarding trick. internal to the LAN, on the WAN at work, whatever.

From work, which is firewalled a bit but I can do my tunnel OK, I get a message from VLC (which I didn't write the exact text) of "unknown content type" or similar, and a file on my local desktop (which I should have opened to see what the contents were).

Do I need to pick a different port? I have to be doing something totally stupid here.

For inside the LAN, this works:

http://192.168.0.103:7647/gbpvr/stream.aspx
with VLC and "spawn external player

For EWA (regular work with GBPVR from outside my home)
I open a ssh connection using
ssh -L 8080:192.168.0.103:7647 user@myplace.org
from an OS X shell, or equivalent tunnelling setup for putty

then I can set up access to GBPVR if I open a connection in a web browser to 127.0.0.1:8080/gbpvr/index.aspx.

for Webstreamer,
127.0.0.1:8080/gbpvr/stream.aspx

and when talking wih webstreamer I get the list of recordings, I can edit prefs, etc- but VLC has the issue I mention above when I start to play a recording.

the tunnel is set up right for EWA, webstreamer is set to use 7647 in its preferences (changed via its web page). Is there something else I need to set?

thanks for help.

Brian
