I must admit, I have already stretched beyond my own limits in this area.

Well, here are some of the more unique designs I've seen on Meedio:
http://www.meedio.com/maid/screenshots.p...7}&start=0 http://www.meedio.com/maid/screenshots.p...7}&start=0 http://www.meedio.com/maid/screenshots.p...D}&start=0 http://www.meedio.com/maid/screenshots.p...5}&start=0 http://www.meedio.com/maid/screenshots.p...5}&start=5 My personal favorite: http://www.meedio.com/maid/screenshots.p...F}&start=1 http://www.meedio.com/maid/screenshots.p...F}&start=5 http://www.meedio.com/maid/screenshots.p...C}&start=0 All of the above show different ways that a skin could be laid out. Some of the options we now have with the latest skinning additions that Sub has added. However, some of the ones that really pop out to me, are the ones that can be represented with Icons for the buttons instead of just plain text. Even a Button and Text together look good. I know we have Task Images and can't necessarily be used by the main menu. I also like the ones that use rows of buttons as it more effectively uses screen realestate. We have much of what we need, just a few more tweaks and I think we would open up a wide range of possibilities. The more flexible the skinning engine is the more unique and eye popping the skins can be. Of course, my absolute favorite is this XBMC skin, but I don't think it will meet the wife acceptance factor. http://www.xbox-skins.net/screenshots/%5B4730%5D1.jpg

Can anyone give me a hint to how I use task images with the horizontal menu?
In the main menu skin file I have (among other things...): Code: <SpecialElement name="MenuType" type="GBPVR.HorizontalMenuTask"/> Do I need to define the task image in the button area? (assuming the horizontal menu was ment to include task images for each button like Dottores examples showed) If so, how is that done? This is what I'm expirimenting with, but I'd like a task image in place of the GBpvr logo.. ![]()

In the composite button definitions, you can do a DrawImage on @taskImage

I just spent the last few hours redoing my latest skin for the new version, 0.95.11. I've yet to put it in production but it seems to work fine on my test box:
