UltraXMLTV Enhancer Version 2 - Beta

I've reuploaded this zip. Enhancer is same version, but I've included a newer version of the Post/Renamer...

It's got a ways to go to look polished, but it's very very stable for what it does so far...

I added queuing built in, so that when a guy with three tuners finish three recordings at once, the post processing for each will happen sequentially. (It'll actually handle unlimited queuing...)

I was watching Taskmanager as it cycled through, and there wasn't any real spikes to speak of.

One problem that still happens is the program still likes to steal foreground away from the pvr gui. MVPServerChecker takes car of that for me but...

And the program DOES work when the recording service is not interacting with the desktop, so it' all good...

Latest release looks better!

I know it's under constant improvement but it looks like the TS tab needs some work before it's ready for release. On the Main tab should Basic Setting be on a config page? I agree with LewE that it might be an idea to repeat the Status info from the Main tab to the Manual tab. For those that run it manually it might be beneficial to see the status info on this tab. Like me

Is there a way to remove the message in the status bar on the Manual tab once running the grabber has completed? Currently a status bar message is displayed "Running grabber..." but once done the message is not cleared?

Once the enhancing has been completed, should the blue progress indicator be cleared on the Manual tab?

Did you try to speed up the enhancing again? I ran the latest version this morning and it ran 25% faster. Normally it takes 40 minutes today it's down to 30.

Counters all look normal.

What's the best way to work on reducing the number for Wrong/No Data? Or should we not worry about this?

Last night, I downloaded this and since I didn't really know how Post/Renamer worked I ran it. I looked but didn't ask it to do anything.

This morning I found Ultra on the screen and it obviously hadn't processed anything.

Note from the screen snap of the Ultra and XMLTV directories (sorted in reverse chronicle order) that the xml file did not get processed in the overnight run (the last entry in the log).

I know this gives you nexct to nothing to go on, but something didn't go right last night.

UPDATE: I clicked on COMMIT and ran Ultra. When it completed, it exited (like it was completing its daily run rather than having been called manually).

I was just trying different things to see if I can break things... :eek:

On the Maint tab...
I get an error if I click on "Start Update EPG", "Stop Update EPG", or "Start GB-PVR GUI". No I do not have GB-PVR installed and this is why I'm getting the error (I'm at work). But it's never good to get errors when they can be trapped.

I deleted all of my XML files and then click on "Open Orig" I was presented with a message tell me neither the original or new file existed. When I click on "Open New", it tell me only the original file exists. But I deleted it and it does not exist. Looks like a minor thing to fix. When I click go (and there is no XML file), it starts downloading and merging then errors out. Possibly add a check here.

It looks like this tab is still under development but it's still one of the default/enabled tabs. Also, it tells me "UpdateEPG.bat does not exist" But give me the opportunity to edit (a file that does not exist) and it give me the button to run the UpdateEPG.bat file that does not exist. Looks like there should be a check disabling some of these buttons.

Thanks LewE. I checked and of course mine went. I have my EPG update set for 5:00am and that's when the log fired up. Your log looks like someone started Ultra at around 1:00 am. Is that when you have your update set?

For the record. Post has nothing to do with Ultra Enhance, ecept they share the same xml_cache, so you can completely ignore them if you want...

If you had downloaded, tried it out, started Enhancer, and then for some reason passed out, or got beamed up by aliens or whatever, left Ultra running, then I could see this happening. Update would come and go, and Ultra would not run...

These are good things to point out. I'll be fixing.

As far as the TS tab. It's the roadside curb at the moment. I'm kicking things around, and some stuff gets kicked there. I will be tidying that up too, but it will probably be last...

Glad it was an easy thing to find and fix. I was afraid that because I didn't have any real information to help you find the problem that it would go into the "Wait and See if It Happens Again" pile.

Unfortunatly, I have to do this from home since I don't get tooltips at work for some reason.
