Thanks sub......I'll keep my eyes open for one....the problem is that you don't know it is off until the end of the recording....shortest clip (for me) would be a half hour show which would be like 1.2gb ( i always record in high quality) I could try a bunch in low quality and see if I can get a small one.

To produce a sample clip, someone would need to schedule a few 1 minute manual recordings, and take a look if any of them exhibit the problem.

I wouldnt want one minute cut from a larger show, because the edit may have affected the originally stream in some way.

I'll see what I can do.....I just finished another 2.5 hour recording test running all 3 tunners at once for a total of 14 shows with the 23025 drivers (jan 2005) that I just loaded and....of course....they all recorded fine. :-)

I'm ideally looking for someone that has access to a webserver, otherwise it makes it a bit difficult to get the file to me.

Sub -
I'll schedule some little recordings tomorrow and see what comes out; I have online storage, so if I get anyhting worthwhile, I'll let you know and give you access. Thanks for your patience with the gbpvr kindergarten.

(this is a couple of hours - and a couple of scotches - after my last post. I am suitably mellowed Smile )

For the record, when I was having the trouble I had 1 tuner, so this is not a multiple tuner problem. In my case it also didn't happen on every recording, or at least not severely, but only about 1 in 4.

Also, whatever goes wrong doesn't necessarily go wrong at the beginning. Many times I was watching a recording in progress and the timeline would show up fine but then all of a sudden go to hell. It doesn't make sense to me how a video could show up as being 30 minutes long on minute, and then the next time I hit skip, instead of being 40 or 45 minutes now it would instead appear to be 2 minutes and my position would get all screwed up.

yep,i tried these in a single pvr150 system,[fresh install] when they came out and it hosed my superbowl recording! i was actually watching while recording and it viewed fine till just after third quarter, when the timeline went nuts..recording went on as usual but skipping anywhere into it was impossible after that time and end file had the timeline issue...also hosed another 30 min recording so i quickly booted these drivers [tho they have finally! fixed the sound issue]
both media player and media player classic couldn't read them right, but vlc could..
went back to 2.0.24.23035 drivers and all is fine now...
i was doing a fresh XP install at the time so these were the first and only drivers on the system so couldn't have been misc. leftovers in registry, parts of old drivers, etc....
i was actually watching the timeline when it glitched...happened on the transition to a commercial..i don't remember which one but it seemed like an input signal timing switch...and maybe the driver couldn't cope..
it just seems like up to a certain driver version, timelines worked and haven't been reliable since...just my 2cents..

Are only NTSC users seeing timeline corruption, or does it affect PAL too?

I'm using PAL-I and have no problems. Please post what you are.

With a recording, unprocessed, what is the GOP size? And are there any differences in GOP size between a recording which plays correctly and one which doesn't?

I've also been wondering this. Please can those folks with this problem let us know what video standard you're using.

I'm PAL-B/G and have never had the problem either.
