I'm not Garetmax, but I can throw in my $0.02 worth...

I'm using the Fusion5 Lite version.

I use my 15 yr old el cheapo Radio Shack outside antenna. It works just fine. However, all our TV station antennas are in the same place about 10 mi from me, almost line-of-sight. YMMV.

I'm recording in dvr-ms using the Microsoft mux and the files are about 6G per hour for 1080i.

I have the card in my test box for now. It's a 1GHz Athlon with 512M and a 60G hard drive. It records fine but doesn't handle playback very well. For now I watch the stuff on my 3GHz P4 HP box over a network share with WMP...works fine and the stuff looks really good on my 20" Dell LCD.

It installed just fine. I downoaded the latest drivers from the Dvico site and made sure it worked with the Dvico package, then config'ed it in GB-PVR. There's a thread here with pretty detailed instructions on how to set it up. I followed those and it worked first time. I set up an account on zap2it with only out local (Phoenix) digital stations and use that for the EPG. Only problem is that it has quite a few errors in it...that's a zap2it issue.

Video card is an FX-5200 with 256MB.

I'm happy with it. Only downer is that I don't have an HDTV, but hey, Christmas is coming...

Hope this helps...

Yes that does help. Thanks for the reply.

When I look in the recording quality section, I only see options for 720x480 or lower. Or is it when you install the card, you get the options to record in 1080 resolution? I have a Sony Wega 36" HDTV so I want to take advantage of it as much as I can.

What I'm understanding is playback on my dedicated PVR might be okay with the Athlon 2100+ if I get a better video card (currently using the embedded video Geforce MX 440 64MB sys RAM).

Found the Fusion 5 Lite at pcalchemy.com for $99.

Here's my plan, add this card to the system in my sig so I can record with one card and watch tv on the other. Preferrably record stuff on the HD card if the signal is good enough while watching live tv thru the PVR150.

When it comes to HDTV, it doesnt matter what quality option you choose, it'll always record the digital stream as transmitted by the broadcaster (which could be 720p or 1080i or whatever).

Not sure where to post this but since you guys are on the subject of recording.
I have an HDTV Wonder since they first came out. Nothing but fits to make it work but once its working the picture is awsome. I have been trying to set up GBPVR vr. 0.95.16. I can view all of my channels and the EPG works but when I schedule a show to record I get a zero kb file. It acts like it is recording for the duration of the show but when done I find the file is empty and of corse it wont play. I tried Beyond TV with the same results but switched back to GBPVR because I like it better. I also can't record with the latest ATI MCE updates but I get error messages that it seems other owners are getting and no one seems to be able to get it to work with TitanTV.
On my new reinstall after trying BeyondTV when the recorder starts I get two windows that pop up that have a tile of active movie ? or something and they are both just black or blank windows. I have tried choosing both Cyberlink and Intervideo for the Mux filters but no change.
Any help is appreciated. Would really like to record 24 in HDTV.

Can you post the output of MuxChecker for your machine?

Sub,
Here's the info you requested. I'll be away with no internet access until after this weekend but will check back as soon as I am back.
thanks for your help.

GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax
VERSION: 3.5.0107

Found: InterVideo Multiplexer
FILE: C:\Program Files\InterVideo\Common\bin\ivimux.ax
VERSION: 3.0.79.521

Most people around here are either using the Cyberlink Mux v5.0.1307 or the Microsoft DVR-MS Mux.

The Intervideo is known to be buggy, as is the older versions of the Cyberlink Mux. Use the forums search feature to search for "5.0.1307".

Sub, Thanks a lot. Your Cyberlink suggestion did the trick. I was able to schedule and record a show tonight and then play it back. This is the first time since I bought this card over a year ago. Now I just need to figure out how to make my HTPC wake on lan.
Thanks again.
