You can use either a frame number or time, but given with MPEG2 video you can only really seek to an I-Frame, its not going to have frame accurate seeking. The best you can hope for is give or take a half second or so.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]We could put it in xml format I suppose. But this is meant for gbpvr only, so I think the only thing xml buys us in this case is making the file larger. But I wouldn't be violently opposed to that if you felt there was value somehow.

The only value I see is consistancy and an easy to read format. Content of the file is the important bitSmile

I kinda thought it would be I-Frame seeking only, but hey, its close enough. I don't mind watching a couple of seconds of adds rather 5 minute worth.

I'll open a developers thread in the developers forum and we'll continue doscussion there,

cheers,

Ok, I'm new to this group so I'll give a brief background on myself...
- .NET developer for 2 yrs now (working on MCSD)
- Software Development leader for Automotive Company
- DBA
etc.

I was running Myth for about 3 months and loved it, but got sick and tired of having to rebuild everything whenever a new kernel came out... had a lot of issues. In any case, as an experienced Myth user, I can say their commercial skip logic works pretty well (about 90% accurate). I didn't have any issues with it flagging false positives, but it did MISS a few positives...
Anyway, in case anyone was wondering how well it worked, I figured I'd chime in. I'm off to setup Gb-PVR now to see how I like it...thanks for all the work guys!

@CodeMonkey, since you're working on this, if I like GB-PVR, I'll see if I can find time to work on the Web Browser plugin.. it's better than developing my own windows based PVR like I was going to do!
