UJB, I just applied the latest version of your patch and so far all is OK.
Is it normal to only be able to stream across the internet at 128? My upload with COMCAST was just bumped to 1 mb up.

Again thanks to all in the community for the help. Thats what keeps GBPVR the best.

PEACE

If you are at 1mb up you should be able to push 256k and perhaps 512k.....it also is dependent on your processor and memory on the host machine being able to transcode at that high of a bitrate without taxing out the PC.

I have 2mb up with Verizon FIOS and I stream at 256k without issue. I use the settings below and get execellent results.

Just set it up with those exact same settings. Will try it tomorrow at work. Thanks again.

Tried it with those settings and still get dropouts. My CPU is a 1.8GZ Athlon and I have a gig of RAM. MAybe it's time to look at a MB.CPU,RAM upgrade.
I know the 1GB is fine, but the 1.8GHZ Athlon may be the choke point.
I'll mess with settings a little more and let you know astime passes.

UPDATE: My server stopped streaming again. I just tried it at work remotely and no go. I tried it on my local network with the same results. I hadn't made any changes since it was last able to stream. This is weird. No errors being thrown or anything. There just isn't anything streaming anymore. I'm going to try changing ports and opening somethingdifferent for both the web interface and VLC to see if that does any good.

First thing I would do is try viewing the stream on the host machine to see how it appears....use the http://localhost: port/gbpvr/ address so you aren't going over your network.

You can also lower your video bitrate to 128 and see if that makes a difference.

Also.....is your host hard wired into the network or is it wireless....this can make a big difference as well.

Nope It won't even stream on the host computer anymore. I've rebooted it and stopped/restarted the recording service. All to no avail.
I'm all the way back to step one for some reason.
I can log into the web interface and do everything EXCEPT streaming. I can even download titles across my local network from the web interface.

I'm at a loss as to why it won't stream. I've even gone so far as to reinstall VLC.

Is the option to stream showing in EWA or is it missing? If it is missing then in the Config Tab you do not have the location for VLC set correctly.

The 'Stream option is showing up fine. It just won't stream. The download of a vlc link works, but when you open it, nothing shows up. I'm having some other minor issues with this box since I did the latest battery of Windows updates (Last month worth), so it might be related to Windows.
You know how that can be,. I'll mess with it some more whern I get the chance abnd update you. Worst case scenario, it's close to time to unin/reinstall GBPVR anyhow.
I do that once every five or six months to freshen everything up and often find it resolves little irritating issues all at once.

I would double check your windows firewall. It's been known to turn back on after windows updates...

I agree with Carlito.....check the firewall again.

Also....reinstall VLC......I know I did have one occasion where things were mucked up and reinstalling VLC on the host and client fixed the issue.
