Remember to grab the very latest when starting your tests. Currently it's 79

-Oz- Wrote:I hadn't included zrename in my postprocessing yet. I was just running it off the bat file included. Just dragging and dropping it on since nothing records for me over the weekend.

That works

Quote:Also, the way my system runs is:
PostProcessing
Add the filename to TranscodeQ.txt

Check. ZProcess does that

Quote:Nightly processing

3. Loop through the list doing the following:
a. Run comskip
b. Cut commercials with videoredo

d. xvid convert with super old version of stattik's script

f. ZRename

Yep. ZProcess can do this. (the VideoRedo for commercial cutting will need to be added, but I already have a VideoRedo script for re-encoding so it should be easy)

I have ZRename earlier in the steps, but that's cuz ZProcess can keep the name change straight...

Quote:I had at one point looked into zprocess but at the time it was more for the mvp and not as much transcoding. It seems to have caught up so I may try again. It would make life a lot easier Smile

That IS my goal. I hate batch files. The whole idea is to have ZProcess replace the fancy dancy PostProcessing.bat that guys are using... Yeah it's customizable, but lots more room for error and confusion...

Quote:I actually don't like the parameters that much in stattik's file but they seem to give the best size to quality ratio. I really want to do a double pass transcode and have the program attempt for a size of 350mb. All my playing never seemed to do it though.

Well, like you said, the balance between size and quality is quite crazy. I have not seen a combination that looks good at 350Mb for 45 mins of video. (with either FFmpeg, MEncoder or VLC)

Two pass is possible, it's still in ZProcess's code, but I hid it in recent versions, as I wanted to see who's using it and who is complaining. I never wanted people to use two pass for on-the-fly transcoding for MVP. (That would make a mess)...

I think that MEncoder makes the best quality but it's quite slow. There's some tweaking there, that's for sure...

Anyway, back on ZRename, I think we're on the home stretch. Thank you so much for your help...

OT: I know its possible to get good quality at 350mb because thats what most torrent shows i download are. The ones I have with stattik's script go between 280 and 350mb and are good enough quality for SD...

Version 1.0.79

Manual mode.

Failed everytime, log:

Knowing some vb thats pretty useless Smile

Fails in both manual or automatic. I'll wait for an update Smile

Yeah I know it's Off topic. But what the hey... I have noticed that probably what you are downloading are rips using HD for source and multiple pass transcode using god knows what. It's been my feeling IMHO, that none of the transcoders that ZProcess (and most of us) use don't do a good job.

OTOH, if you like what the old Stattik script used, we should be able to get it into ZProcess.

I suppoe you're right, we'll move that into a thread of it's own...

As usual your wiki's are so informative Smile

Still doesn't work with The O.C.. I've checked in the database and its definitely stored there. It can find it in manual mode but in automatic still no go.

OZ. Home stretch here... Send me your logs and your DB. Also confirm if you're using default Zap2it or I-XMLTV...

One more thing. Why are you include sqlite.exe with this still when your sample vb6 code only needs the dll?

(Fixed that)

1.0.83 should be it.

I added some code that would display the correct path on folders with trailing periods (Windows says they can't exist, in spite of the paths being stored that way in the DB...

That code didn't work.

ZRename works as it should for shows that end with 'O.C.' or 'P.I.'

If you can think of any more, I could hard code that right now and get that out of the way...
