In my opinion at this moment you are better of getting ML2 to work. ML3 still needs quite a bit of work.

Is it possible to install ml3 along side ml2 or will ml3 replace ml2

I'd like to get involved with the testing but only have one system and being able to play music is very important to me

Not really, kind of replaces.

I'll get on me butt and relink the backend changes to ML2 so that both are usable, and I think it's probably a bit shortsighted of me to try and cut over....

I don't think so. I tried, but that did not work. So I now move directories back and forward.
I am keen to get this version working, so Psycik can finally work on the multiple artists thing at the top of his TODO list. Besides it is a good plugin worth being transformed to pvrx2 level.

Hi, that wasn't as painful as I thought. I've just added a new Beta package, which includes ML2 as well. It should all extract to the correct directories.

So if you want I think they'll both exist together. But if you only want one over the other, just remove the plugin directory (or plugin dll) or move it to a directory further down the chain - ie move from MusicLibrary2 directory to MusicLibrary2\Plugin.

This does not work for me. I have extracted according to the path in the ZIP file:
GBPVR
..Plugins
....Common
....MusicLibrary2
....MusicLibrary3
..

In the configurator none of the plugins appear.

Hmm, did for me, in ML2 and ML3 directories ONLY the MusicLibray2.dll (and pbd) and same in MusicLibrary3?

Send me the config.exe logs and I'll look....Probably tomorrow though.....

Using Winzip I extracted ALL files from the zip to their respective paths as specified in the ZIP.
I sent the config.exe.log to your regular email account

At least I tried...

Stopped server. Deleted the plugins directories. Copied all of the files. Restarte server. Started config. Nothing happens.

I'm a bit confused, as in the 8.03 beta ZIP file you have two subdirectories

/MusicLibrary2
[INDENT]-and-[/INDENT]
/MusicLibrary3

Which is the right one? ML2? ML3? Both???

What do I have to do (pls write it out for idiots) the steps necessary to install your software and have it recognise the plug-in and configure it?

Sorry guys - i must apologise for that last Beta release i quickly put out. Its gotta be one of the crappiest I've done for a while :o

OK, just posted a 8.0.4 and tested it a bit better - actually put it across to my prod machine and verified both of them start. I didn't do that before as i was running it from my dev machine.

Any way. And here is some instruction for install to some of the newer members.

The ML3 beta now includes an updated ML2. I will try and keep them both up to date for the testing - but the only changes i am making to ML2 are to deal with the new back end code - I'm not making any additions to the UI.

Any way in the package are the following directories.
Keymappings
plugins
skin
skin2

Skin directory holds a skin for ML2
Skin2 directory hold a skin for ML3
Keymapping is a keymapping file for ML3
Plugins - holds an ML2 and ML3 directory - this is the actual plugins
Also Common - this holds the MLCommon Interfaces and Mlupdater directory.

To install, you probably need to stop GBPVRRecordingService if you already have an ML2/ML3 install. Remoe the Plugins\ML2 and Plugins\ML3 directories. From the Common directory - remove MusicLIbraryCommon, Interfaces.dll

Then copy the Keymappings, plugins, skin, skin2 directories to your GBPVR directory - these sub directories should already exist.

Then start up the config app and configure, they use the same options - and so they should look pretty similar inthe config. I'd use the MusicLibrary3 config though as this is the most current.


Sorry again from that crappy install - I've just tested on both variations and had them both work.
