yea, that gfmbridge works perfectly, but as i understand it, it still needs a bit of interaction with the player app....but it's smooth on changes...but it keeps all files connected to a decoder graph, then just switches them in to renderer when each file ends..[the info it needs from player i think]

there's a multi-file source filter that comes with Nvidia codecs i know...
the multifile i'm looking for is incredibly old, back from earliest days of dshow, but it worked..

ahhh, found it..."I Media Multiple MPEG2 Source" and it takes a txt file with list of files to play, and outputs to demux...still trying to figure out the txt file format...tho it seems to be just names..
the link to it's author is wrong so looking to find info..
fysx.acwu.com ?
Maxwell Sayles author...
seems to do just what we want..

I looked at the I-Media Multiple MPEG2 Source (it's from Ligos) but there was some reason I dismissed it. I can't remember why but I'll look at it again.

The NVidia multisource filter doesn't work. I tried.

I tried the I-Media Multiple MPEG2 Source again and although it reads the list and sets the output formats properly, it will not actually play the graph.

I was seriously considering getting Arcsoft TMT so that I could use the demux and other libraries with this plugin to stream HD DVD and BluRay material from the server, but from pBS's posts here, looks like mpc might work just as well? If so, is there some other library/functionality for which Arcsoft's TMT might be needed?

Thanks,
-Topper

Yeah, the MPC-HC demux works, I just forgot to update the documentation thread. The only thing that ArcSoft filters would give you is DTS-MA/HD since ffdshow can only decode the DTS-Core. Downside is that the Arcsoft audio decoder defaults to 2 channel every time and there is no way to change it so ffdshow is the better option.

same here with those source filters..
i did find one that works a charm, but i think it's gonna be $$..it's an sdk with a playlist source...allows to have diff. source formats even...Smile
works great..so makes me wonder how much just for the playlist filter..
Playout sdk http://wiki.medialooks.com/Playlist_Source
tho it's strange how it plays it...

that's all i got...Smile

unless you wanna use avisynth...then it's easy as pie...Big Grin
just build a playlist as .avs and play that sucker...
less control over playback codecs i believe, but render control..[just insert preferred renderers and render .avs]
should be seamless tho...

ok,well it worked with normal res files...lol

on a side note, MPC Video codec works a charm with m ATI card with full dxva...[both h264 and vc1] only bad thing is, you can't use dxva out for transcoding, goes straight to video card..looks just like cyberlink quality tho..

and newest ffdshow tryouts beta seem to have solved the h.264 puzzle also..
[plus an 'auto-crop' feature that's interesting..] < 50% single cpu and smooth h.264 using only ffdshow..

i've been playing with h264 transcodes using avivo graphs, Very nice results..Smile
next i'll try the vc1 wmvs....but lightning fast encodes of h264 in avi...
they added multi-slice h.264 in newest avivos...not sure what that is tho..lol

Given the UK retailers are all going into administration and flogging stuff off cheap, I've doubled the size of my Bluray collection (how have 6 Big Grin ) but got one today that I cant play... Casino Royale will only give me the option of the sound track for visually impaired or directors commentary. I'm still using the Haali splitter so I can chose the soundtrack with the mouse before leaving the film to play and cause without it the video is jerky and unwatchable, but it only gave me 3 audio options, none of which were any use. I wonder though if the actual useful tracks were things the Haali splitter didn't know what to do with (the DD HD or whatever it's called), or it was sending them to AC3Filter and not ffdshow. There was no ffdshow audio icon... Bummer, probably answered my own problem there, but not sure what to do about it! I assume there's no reason the video playback should be jerky without the Haali splitter but fine with? I installed the MPC-HC mux but it's unwatchable without the Haali splitter....

Haali will not understand or expose the HD audio formats. You will need to delete the registry mentioned in http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=39575 so that the FileSource (Async) filter will be used to load the file instead of Haali.

I've had an interesting time with this, but have finally got it working! Oddly I didn't have that reg key with Haali, but removed the splitter anyway to be sure it wasn't called. Then all I got was a blank screen. Had a play with MPC that told me AC3Filter was being used for the MLP stream which wasn't good. Turns out it's got some crazy high merit, so removed that too! Then got everything playing about 2 frames a sec but with the right mux and ffdshow. Turns out I didn't have it recoding the MLP to AC35.1, when I set that, everything works perfectly and plays very nicely! So thanks loads for your help, the posts here have helped my a lot with messing about with filters/merits etc. It's a bummer some of these things install with such oddly high merits!
