A single transponder on any single tuner?
Channels from multiple tuners?

Another related question is if GB-PVR supports subchannels? The docs from the latest mdapifilter claims it does not. But isn't subchannels what gbpvr use for it standard multichannel support from a single transponder?

A CI device is only able decrypt the stream flowing through that device, so it is not able to decrypt streams from any other cards. I'm also not aware of any multi-tuner devices with CI slot, probably because most CAM modules are only capable of decrypting a single channel at a time.

It has the same limitation as multidec in that multi-record will not be used by the application when an encrypted channel is involved.

You should be able to use multiple DVB cards with CI slots, CAM modules and smartcards though. Multidec plugins are bit finicky when you go beyond one instance running in a process.

CI will suit some users. Multidec will suite others. Some may go with a mixture of the two.

Ok, thanx, understood all about CI and multidec now, except one thing.

Mediaportal has, as I understand it, support for decoding multiple encrypted channels with the help of the latest mdapifilter. I have not tried this myself as I heavily favour GB-PVR of course. But is the same setup possible with GB-PVR? I am not sure this functionality is "multi-record" or just plain one channel per tuner recording. Not sure about what "subchannel" support means either.
I am asking this to avoid delving into investigations and testing that consumes hours and days, if you already know the outcome...

I think this is the smoothest most painless upgrade I've done to date! Nothing at all went wrong and the wife is delighted with the DVD exit bug fix! Big Grin Big thanks to Sub for all the work that goes into this and any testers out there for making this a very stable release.

MP indeed can do multi-record with mdapi on one tuner with channels that are on the same transponder. I'm not sure how they programmed this, since I believe the recording service of MP is also one process.

That surprices me, I'm pretty sure I have recorded an encrypted channel and watched one at the same time, the channels were on the same transponder/mux btw. I'll test that when I have the opportunity.

On the other hand, I NEVER got multirecording to work in MP Rolleyes.

Im not sure that the upgrade has caused some of my channels to go AWOL im guessing its the digital switchover here in the UK. I have upgraded to the newest version with no problems but when i watch live tv i have channels missing. BBC1, 2, 3 and about 15 others do not get picked up on my local transmitter. When i change to another transmitter near me i get the missing channels but loose the ones i had before. When i select scan all frequencies i get the correct channels but i get signal is to low on BBC!,2,3 etc. i know my ariel is ok due to a 42" screen with built in tuner being ok.

I have recently came back from holiday and had to re tune the 42" fella as they have moved some of the channels around.

Any help would be appreciated as some of the channels missing are my kids channels and im near insanity. Smile

This software ROX i run it on 4 boxes at the mo Smile

This wont be anything to do with the new 1.4.7 release.

It may be that your need to update the .ini file you're using in C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA\DVB-T, but dont thats not a discussion for this thread.

All you have to do is scan all regions, all channels.

Thanks for this latest release, Sub. I'm very pleased to see radio stations are finally supported. GBPVR is coming along very nicely indeed Smile
