With PlayOn on any device, you can't navigate forward past what has been streamed. From the PlayOn FAQ "so it's impossible to fast forward beyond the latest downloaded (and transcoded) point in the media"

Ultimately both your questions are for sub. He probably could provide an elapsed time mechanism similar to LiveTV but I am not sure if he can provide some http navigation for seeking in a the transcoded part of the file.

Thanks for the response. The timeline is no big deal. I guess I didn't understand how PlayOn was different from using a Roku box, but now I do.

After trying nPVR on my GBPVR system with Universe, selecting Universe crashes nPVR.

Martin/Sub,
Just to close the loop on this...
I resorted to a FULL reinstall based on using NMTInstall2 - meaning all boxes checked: mvpmcx2, NPVR, Skins, NMT
That resolved the problem with Universe/Playon hanging at buffering on my NMT's (M34a's)
FWIW, recalling the previous upgrade to 2.2.6 that started this problem... I am nearly positive that the upgrade using NMTInstall2 was done by ONLY checking the NPVR upgrade box (not a FULL install).
Thanks for all you guys do to help us all,

I am in process of configuring Universe plug in with Playon. As previously reviewed in this thread, I am facing same issues regarding to no streaming media playback.

I have not looked into the Win7-64 firewall yet. Am running a standalone htpc, and hope to integrate the Roku box in the bedroom.

Downloaded the Haali splitter. Am on the options page now and figured I had better ask questions before proceeding.

Which K-Lite Codec pack should I get? Any advantage to the system in also getting the 64 bit codecs?

I have messed around with many different decoders, and am currently using the following:

This is the best configuration I have come up with so far. When installing the KLite package which options would be best? I am still experiencing some latency in ff/pause issues but much better.

What those don't show is the mpeg splitter required for http mpeg-ps playback. If you install K-Lite standard it will install either the Haali or LAV splitter for you. It is SD so you shouldn't have too much issues, allow you won't necessary have FF/RW because it is transcoded on the fly.

64 bit decoders will be of no use to you with NextPVR. NextPVR is 32 bit so it will only use 32 bit decoders regardless of OS version.

Thanks guys..

figured that on the 64 bit decoders, but needed to ask...

I installed the basic KLite package earlier, which removed the prior install of the Haali filter. I just installed the standard package which I assume installed the Haali filter in viewing the setup defaults. Also, installation of the basic package done earlier cleaned up the registry according to dialog boxes that popped up.

The Universe interface is very slow relating to either keyboard, mouse, or remote commands. Pandora plays well but the screen that shows is very fuzzy and non useable (may be the way it works). I can go back and change stations, etc.. via the Universe interface. Streaming playback is very choppy and unusable. I am unable to use ffdshow, nor Lav as decoder options with Live TV, Recordings, since they both show no video. They play audio, and show information on the selection. Lav works with the Universe interface, but still choppy with intermittent audio...

Martin, you mentioned a while back that you feel my system is underpowered. I assume that through the plug in on the htpc, and via Roku that all streaming content is transcoded on the fly. When playing streaming content via the plug in cpu useage is pegging at 100%, windows running 64 proccesses, using half of the ram, the MedialMall process is averaging 70% cpu usage and jumps up and down wildly. You have guided me immensely but something just isn't right especially after upgrades, fresh os and npvr install..

I have an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ cpu, 3gb ddr ram, Win 7-64, .5tb SATA hd, 600 watt power supply, nvidia geforce 210 (Rocketfish, Best Buy brand) video card, Rocketfish 7.1 PCI sound card (using Creative Lab's X-Fi chipset).

I am so frustrated and thanks again!

I will leave Martin to comment on universe etc as I have no experience of it but I do know that the 3400+ cpu is amongst the lowest of the "Low Mid Range CPUs"
It is only a bit faster than the Athlon XP 3200 cpu that I stopped using over 5 years ago. I know MS say that win7 only needs a 1Ghz CPU but tbh I am surprised it runs win7 AND applications acceptably at all.

I made a recent post http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post430815 showing it on the NMT which should be noticeably slower reacting than the PC (except for the minute delay which will be the same) PlayOn does include a system check in their setting program.

I don't know what the screen is supposed to show, I am writing from Canada, and it is blocked.

Scary news for SD content.

For ffdshow from K-Lite you need to enable it to play MPEG2 video codec. In Start menu KLite Configuration go to the ffdshow video decoder, goto codec find MPEG2 which is disable by default and change it, I recommend the libavcoded

Yes, that sound like the CPU is underpowered. Try disable unnecessary services, especially anything related the Windows Media Centre. If VMC is running I can't play any HD. You shouldn't be having major problems with MPEG2 SD though.

I found the Pandora answer on the PlayOn forums http://www.playon.tv/forum/help/general-...ment-30850 You can't navigate during audio playback because it is a video stream. I expect it will look cleaner when you get mpeg2 working.
