Knew you'd say that :-). At work right now, but I'll get em tonight. Just thought this may have something to do with the symbolic links. Maybe the play request comes through as \\HDX1000\dvd\Breach\Breach.iso to the HDX1000 and it is saying "Can't find that file... all I've got is \\HDX1000\dvd/Breach/Breach.iso".

Here's the section of the log when I attempted to playback "Battlestar Galactica 1" from the time I hit "play" on the folder until I hit "stop".

I checked the code and the path separator is changed to linux format. I didn't think I added support for the hostname but I actually did, assuming it is the hostname shown if you ran telnet and type cat /tmp/setting.txt

However looking at the code I don't think you need the mnt instead try

ln -s /share/Video/DVD/ \\\\HDX1000\\dvd

I did notice in your earlier example with ls it just showed "Battlestar Galactica" I don't know where the " 1" comes from.

yes, shows up as HDX1000

OK, did that and "ls \\\\HDX1000\\dvd" shows all the dvd folders. Will try playing an iso when i get home.

I had added some additional folders since my earlier post.

Sadly that didn't help :-(. Only difference it that I now don't need to press 'stop" to get it back to the previous mvpmxc2 menu. After about 10 seconds it returns by itself.

I will need the client side logs but it will have to wait until tomorrow night to explain. I don't have a drive in my PCH to test this on. You might also need a command line option --use-shares I wrote this part in 2008 and no one really used it before.

Appreciate your continued help with this.

To create the logs you need to make sure the mvpmc share is configured as r/w, you may need to change it in Windows and in npvr.cgi and then change startmeup as shown here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post419870

I installed mvpmcx2 using CSI so don't seem to have /etc/mvpmc/startmeup.

Ok I guess you need to ensure telnet is installed (maybe via CSI I don't remember if I added it to the CSI installer) and run mvpmcx2 manually with the same options, maybe redirecting to /share/Video
