NMT Booot to NextPVR Visual

Martin has explained that once the handshake starts that is beyond his control. My WAF issue is that I get 7/8 seconds of total black screen with no user visual feedback before NextPVR screen loads. That is all

and this one (which makes me sad to see this on the A200, because Syabas broke on me just before release) shows HD component really well even with a bit of flickering during the handshaking.

Somewhere past the middle in the black (which is actually no display since no program is controlling the output) after the handshake, I could display a message which would show for about 500ms in your examples a please wait message that I personally would find annoying, just before the end sub could display another message that might show for a second.

I suppose I could put a delay in my autoload script (or you could do it) at the beginning of loading to clear the screen to a black screen & say something like "Please wait NextPVR loading" for a second or so but that seems counter productive to me as it would take an extra second to load up.

I am thick as usual, don't know what I can do with the equipment I have to speed anything up?

Jaggy, get what you have said but of course if a feedback gives an extra delay then it is counter-productive?

Yes the thread is getting a bit long and you aren't getting it. What mvpmcx2 would be able to show is that brief display that says "Starting Application" during the break between Jaggy's popup and the main screen.

What you aren't getting is that mvpmc has emulation mode embedded in on application and the initialization happens at the beginning well before you launch NextPVR. On the NMT it is exiting the NMT apps, loading mvpmcx2, and then initializing the monitor. At that point it should load the NextPVR screens but now more than ever I am suspecting that you have the wrong resolution setting causing problms. Component requires 3 RCA jacks, composite just one (usually yellow).

Your video is not really a true comparison, it is sort of the worst case NMT boot from full power off vs the MVP from standby, when the NMT returns from standby it is faster than the MVP because it just turns on the display. I am surprised the boot from power on on the NMT was that fast. At one time I considered a loader but Syabas never provided a good launch method for apps.

Component requires 3 RCA jacks, composite just one (usually yellow).

Plus the two audio cables which means Component=5 total, Composite=3 total.

From your comments earlier in the thread I thought you were using component, it serves me right for not asking you to following normal process and get the NMT Syntax check. I did give you the SD config.xml settings and if those don't work it means you monitor is really dumb and can't scale very well. I will wait for you to try component before explaining how to get 640x576 to work.

The power on the remote should just turn on/off the display, your video showed the full NMT reinit sequence with the Popcorn Hour graphic.

I have always had the PCH graphics whenever I press the power button no matter how short a press I do, that is even when I was not using the auto load scripts, it isn't something to with lircd1 is it??

The graphic comes up when you go back to the PCH software, but once I am "back" in the NMT software mine just toggles the display off/on in standby.
