How are you hooked up to that TV?  Conposite/SVideo, or does it have a computer monitor hookup?
My InLaws have a 36" WEGA (Not HDTV). It is a nice piece of equipment.  That must be real nice.
I'm using an S-video cable to connect it.  I read somewhere that the DVI input on the back of the TV isn't compatible with DVI from a computer [Image: rock.gif] Anybody know for sure?  'They' say it may work but i could risk damage to the TV by using the DVI if I don't have the refresh rates set exactly right.

I love the TV.  For DVD movies it is so clear and sharp and bright.   In the 'movie' pic mode, the black is so dark that even with the lights off you can hardly tell the TV is on (excellent contrast ratio).  It looks pretty good with the Dish networks reciever, but actually looks even better now that I'm running the video through the PC.

I'm only using the PC to watch TV and recorded shows.  I still use my Samsung DVD player w/ component video inputs for DVDs.

The TV is a toad tho, weighs about 250lbs.  [Image: laugh.gif]

This is kinda true, but can usually be worked around. Some TV's will work properly with a DVI cable, I've even heard of some showing up like a normal plug&play monitor, with listed resolutions right in the display properties. Sony never likes to do anything easy though. [Image: sad.gif]

You can go about trying it by downloading a program called moninfo.exe. Google it, otherwise let me know and I can email it if you want it. You hook up your PC to your TV with the DVI cable, run monifo, and it generates a list of timings and compatible modes that it gets from the TV though the interface. With that info, you can go into the advanced timings of your videocard and set it up(if available on your card), or use an external application called powerstrip to configure your card.

Here is what monifo generates on my PC LCD display:

Due to a medical problem in the family, I have to take a few days off from the project. I should be back looking at bugs in a few days.

In the meantime, here is a couple of photos of my setup.

My wife used to work at fujitsu, so we're using a 42" Fujitsu plasma (curtesy of staff discount). Also in the picture - Hush 2.8Ghz P4, two GI cable decoders, XBox, Sony receiver, VCR, Philips DVD recorder.

The rear speakers are shown here behind the front speakers. This is baby-proofing...

A few months ago I decided to make the PC more living room friendly. So bought a new Case and power supply. Fitted sound insulation in the interior and put the hard drives into silencers. All in all you can still hear it, but noise level has decreased substatially.

Here's my setup.

Processor: AMD Athlon™ XP 2600+
Motherboard: MSI MS-6330
Memory : 640MB SDRAM
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 151S
Video: G-Force FX-5600 256Mb
Hard disk1: Maxtor 80Gb ATA mounted in Silentmax
Hard disk2: Maxtor 200Gb SATA mounted in Silentmax
Sound : VIA AC'97 Intergrated
TV1: Hauppauge PVR350 using the TV-Out
TV2: Hauppauge PVR250
Case: Coolermaster Cavalier (interior with sound insulation)
OS: Windows XP Home SP2
PVR: GB-PVR (of course)
LAN: Linksys 54G wireless
Internet: ADSL 1600/512 Kbit/s

TV: Sony Wega KV 32FX
Receiver: Denon AVR 2700
Center: KEF Q950
Front: Blue room minipods
Rear: Linn Kahn
Sub: Rell Q200E
Remote: Philips Pronto Neo
DVD: Hiteker BI-600-E

Neat setup. What is with the odd sloping walls? I've never seen walls slope away as they go up.

Not sure about the terminology. Each Cube is one appartment and each is privately owned.
