I am always impressed how you two manage to diagnose problems without a signal or hardware.

It's like watching someone doing keyhole surgery wearing boxing gloves and viewing through the wrong end of a telescope. Wink

Yes, martin123 we do back and forth a fair bit. I'm glad he's an early bird and that I'm a night owl.

@sub, with your new changes I'd like to see if users find that the VLC mux option in SageDCT produces XBMC compatible files. I tried before with one user but NextPVR didn't play them either at the tiem. If this doesn't work out, I agree that a named pipe would be good approach to try and I found that simply copying a file via ffmpeg makes them playable so there probably is something more we can.

I will try to run through some tests tonight and then with XBMC.

Is the VLC Mux addon a better solution right now for the Ceton InfiniTV?

At least until there is NextPVR native support and I don't have to use SageDCT anymore

Where can I get the "new changes" to test?

You need the R2 patches and then apply this http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post449983

You might need to bump the delay in NetworkRecorder.xml up to about 5 with this patch, if it still dies

Finally if it works with NextPVR and not XBMC then configure SageDCT to use the VLC as the mux. I've never heard back on this. If it doesn't work I believe still can get it working with ffmpeg.

Apparently VLC transcoding doesn't solve the problem so I will be integrating ffmpeg. I'll have to support with and without named pipes, since I can't guarantee that the tuner is on localhost.

Could someone who has configured vlc demux in SageDCT copy their SgeDCT registry settings. It might be possible to use ffmpeg instead

Here is a text file of the settings. Let me know if you'd like a registry file. This doesn't actually work for me if that matters. I just configured it to help you along.

Lets see if these changes are enough to use ffmpeg instead of vlc

VlcPath to [yourpath]\ffmpeg.exe

VlcCaptureFormat -i rtp://{0}:{1} -acodec copy -vcodec copy "{3}"
