mvallevand Wrote:Ok I will look into this, I play all my recordings using a share (via advancedsetting.xml mappings) since that is how comskip will work and it takes some load of the server too but something could be borked with http.

I should probably try to figure that out eventually, too, since I'd want comskip to work. :-) But right now, my more immediate (and critical) problem is that NPVR doesn't seem to be properly recognizing my DCR-2650, so none of my non-clear QAM recordings will work. :-(

Yes that is best. Sorry I wasn't clear enough about that. The SOAP interface is still there and didn't change so it may work, but I suspect I broke some things and use JSON or XML instead of SOAP from time to time.

I did an update to override sub's url with the pvr style url. See if that helps.

mvallevand Wrote:Alternatively you can add http://xbmc.epgtools.com to System -> File manager -> Add source and you can install the repository directly

I tried to go this route, but I don't think that I did it correctly because I'm not getting any notices about the newer versions.

  1. I went to System (on the main menu) and then selected File Manager (from the sub-menu on the main screen).
  2. Then I picked "Add source" and put in "http://xbmc.epgtools.com" for the "Enter the paths or browse for the media locations." and gave it a name of epgtools and "OK" to save.
  3. Then I went to System -> Settings -> Add-ons. Selecting "Get Add-ons" only listed "XBMC.org Add-ons" which didn't help.
  4. So I went back and used the "Install from zip file" option to browse to my epgtools source, then the script.xbmc.x-newa folder and selected the script.xbmc.x-newa-2.0.13.zip file.

This process seemed to install the add-on, but didn't give me any notices about updates.

UPDATE: In going back through the steps that I did. I discovered that at step #4 above, I should have selected the "respository.nextpvr.xbmc-plugins.zip" to "Install from zip file". I just did that, and now it is finding (and automatically installing) updates. I'm not at 2.0.17!

I did find that the update seemed to wipe out my X-NEWA settings (specifically the NextPVR IP Address). It would be nice if that could be saved.

After the 2.0.17 version auto-installed, I tried playing a recording from the Touch interface on the Pi, and it played fine. Yeah!

The quality does not seem quite as good as video from my NMT--specifically, when there is fast movement/action, there are "lines" along the surfaces which are moving.

Yes the settings and also cached channel icons are lost on upgrades which is why that first load is so slow one of the purposes of this thread. If you ssh to your rpi you could use a method I use to persist it

mv /home/pi/.xbmc/addons/script.xbmc.x-newa/x-newa.ini /home/pi/.xbmc/userdata/x-newa.ini

Still thinking about the other cache items.

Great, I've asked sub why he thinks his two web streamers act differently.

It isn't as good quality. I have never liked how the RPi does deinterlacing but most people don't seem to care. In the YouTube demo I posted today at about 2:11 when I go to channel 961 you will see it at HD full screen.

What if you set you tv to 1080i?
