Stuttering audio on some channels

Sorry, I don't know. Maybe try setting the audio decoder you're not using to 'Disabled' - some audio devices misbehave with multiple audio audios being present.

I tried this: Leave "MPG1 Audio: LAV Audio Decoder" as it is
Disable the other four decoders [AC3 Audio etc.] below it
Restart program
It makes no difference to the stuttering on 'radio' channels

Why is it only the 'radio' channels & not the TV channels?
Any suggestions on how I might diagnose the problem?
It is presumably a buffering problem & there's something different in the way buffering is handled in radio compared with TV channels?

Hi Sub. An update on my progress for you - we are 2/3rds of the way there - thanks to you & also Graham [post #6]

[1] Success: Reboot now results in the NPVR record service being "Started". How did you do that?

[2] Success: No more program freezes

[3] Fail: I still need to play, pause, play [suggested by Graham] to remove stuttering from the radio channels. I'm going to find a good, free process monitor program over the weekend & see what's going on under the hood - please note that Graham has the identical problem.

Are you able to help regarding explaining where buffering of radio occurs or what the process is called?

I changed the standard setting of 500 to 5000 [5 seconds] & then I tried 50000 [50 seconds] - it doesn't cure the stutter unfortunately

As expected when I launch NVPR & click "Live TV" the setting controls the delay before the last channel I used starts to play
But if that last channel happens to be a radio channel the stutter still occurs until I do: PAUSE - WAIT - PLAY
The setting has no effect on the time taken to switch channels [16 seconds on my system] & when I switch from radio channel to radio channel I have to do: PAUSE - WAIT - PLAY again

I've sorted out NextPVR by changing default paths so they hang directly off C:/

Timings now to FIRST AUDIO are as follows:
NextPVR only, launch: 2 secs
NextPVR only, switch: 4 secs
Kodi, launch: 16 secs
Kodi, switch: 16 secs
I can't find a way of speeding up Kodi, but I'm working on it

The stuttering in NextPVR only & NextPVR/Kodi combo continues to be an annoyance, but luckily I'm not a channel switcher type of listener so I can live with PAUSE - WAIT - PLAY when I do switch
