Is it possible that you installed the 64 but version of LAV by mistake? Also for tuning you need to disable auto map debugging as sub posted.

Just reverified I installed the 32 bit LAV versions and disabled auto map debugging.
I have OTA live stream audio still but no audio for the SD Premium TV channels.

The older thread in the link below seems to reference a similar problem. Does this fix or some derivation of it apply in this case?? Seems really similar with no LAV sound (for live streams) on Clear QAM h264/AAC channels only vs. the same for my HDHR Prime h.264/AAC channels. I think the fix is baked into 4.2.2 now, but worth a revisit when time allows?

Hello, I hope this post is relatable to this thread. I have been using WMC with windows 7 for years, and am about to rebuild my media center. I only use it for watching and recording live TV basically. I am interested in updating to windows 10, on the advice of my IT mate ( I already have a surface pro with windows 10) There are a few things in windows 10 that would enhance my media center PC, but as we all know, WMC is not supported by windows 10. I've tried Media Portal and Kodi but much prefer NextPVR as
a replacement. I've installed it on my office PC which has a single tuner card and Windows 7 with WMC, just to try it out before I rebuild the media center in the house. I have hundreds of WTV files and I noticed that first of all, the ones recorded in HD have no volume. I understand it's something to do with the codecs. All my video and audio decoders in NextPVR are Microsoft DTV-DVD decoders except for HEVC Video and E-AC3 audio, whose only option is disabled. Also, if I get the sound working, how do I get all the WTV files to show up in Recordings? The only way to currently access them through NextPVR is to go to "Videos" as I listed the drive they are stored on in "Media Folders". (I used the same directory when setting up the recording directory but they don't show up there at all). When you select "Videos" the files have no picture (as they do in WMC) and the file name is eg: Travel Man_SBS Viceland_2018_11_19_19_59_53.wtv. I understand that if I use NextPVR to record live TV in the future, it will show the recorded TV files in a similar fashion to WMC, but I need to access all the WTV files in my recorded TV library. Appreciate any help.

NextPVR uses the decoders specified at NextPVR Settings --> Decoders to play recordings made by NextPVR. When NextPVR plays other files, it asks Windows Media Player (WMP) to play the file and allows WMP to choose the decoders. The easy option is to install the LAV decoders ... you can then specify the LAV decoders in NextPVR settings for recordings and WMP can choose LAV when it plays other video ... Thanks for the quick response Graham, I'll follow this advice up over the next few days.

I went through this when I switched from WMC to NPVR. I converted all the .WTV to .DVR-MS on the Win7 machine then used VideoReDo batch facility to convert them to .TS files. This lost all the metadata from the original files. I tried VidImport but that creates old-style .XML files so I went down the road of manually creating .XML files that NPVR could use to import the recordings, most of the data was copied and pasted from Wikipedia. I did several hundred WMC recordings over a period of 6/7 months and got quite slick at it in the end - bit slow at first and was a bit of a learning curve. BUT the end result was worth it.

I have the same problem since several years now (no sound on HD channels, EAC3 not working).
I gave up, but now my AverTV app is not working anymore, so I want to come back on NEXTPVR, which is the best app for live TV for me. So nobody found a solution ? |
