Local News M3U8 link doesn't play audio

I was able to get it working in in NextPVR v4.

As mentioned, it's a pretty weird stream, and slow to start, but does work with the attached updated nshared.dll. I wont bother trying to make it start faster with v4, but I'm happy to look into it further with v5.

wow....gonna try this now. 
definitely a donation coming your way. it's a lot more convenient to launch the channel through NPVR than exit and launch it elsewhere.

Can confirm that both links play with audio now that i've replaced the Nshared dll with the new one provided.

plugging either of those links into NPVR got me a black screen. 

Using the NPVR simple IPTV through Kodi probably works, but me and my wife love the default NPVR interface the default windows app has. 
If I use NEWC and use the server interface it doesnt have the same functionality so we launch NPVR through Advanced Launcher.

My testing of the shortened links was with v5 so probably that is a v5 improvement.

Other than mouse support what functionality of knewc in UI client mode is different from NextPVR that requires the advanced launcher?

Mouse support is a huge deal for us, we dont want to have to use the wireless keyboard (or the Kore kodi phone app) for everything. Got an alienware hooked up to our flat screen, huge 10 TB HD, 1000s of movies, IPTV for cable hooked up to NextPVR. Category switching is also different. Using advanced launcher gives us the functionality we need. We could use Ivue or TV Guide Fullscreen through Kodi but we like NextPVR more.

Also, v5 doesn't load up our IPTV sources categories, but v4 does, that's key with a service that has a lot of channels (ours does). Sub said he's fixing that in the next release. Might give v5 a spin when thats fixed.

NextPVR works great with a full remote and more natural too you need to give it a try.

It works fantastic for me with a mouse on the home theater PC. I'm very happy. 
Our set up wouldn't work with a remote. mouse is much better for us.
