Except for the bad transcode=none syntax (just use $1) that seems be fine. Did you create it with a Windows editor by chance?

Not this time. I used the Linux Mint text editor. I assume it uses Unix EOL.

I am a bit unclear what I should choose when prompted about transcoding when I run the .py script though.

You would enter Y or y just like you do to select Extend tuner.

However I think my python was the problem  Try this and chance the transcode=none back to heavy.

Ok it's working now with the new python. Also changed none to heavy.

I have 2 channels that are extra. They both play in the NextPVR Android app with Direct play enabled and not enabled. Jellyfin plays one of the extra channels transcoding and the other direct. Here are a couple of screenshots of JF encoding data.

Looks like a Jellyfin bug to me based on what the origianl content is or you might need to clear some history. Maybe it doesn't like heavy encoding on an SD channel.

Hi Martin,

I tried the new script and I got this error when attempting to run the py script.

Code:

$ sudo python3 hdhrconnect.py install

Oops, thanks once again. I had fixed that but removing attachments on the forum software messed me up. Updated now. It should also do the chmod for you.

The script created the extra devices now but I am unable to get a stream running. It says it is starting but after a few seconds it gives ip with an error message.
