Works beautifully on LG B1 65"

The webOS app fails from time to time, but up to now I have been able to get it working. The most frequent issue is, whenever my public IP address changes, I get a black screen with a white border. In those cases I shut off my TV, log into the "about" page in the web interface, and turn the TV back on.
I have the black screen with a white border, but the fix no longer works. MrMC and the tvOS app work, but I often need to use the webOS app because it is currently the only one of the three that is competent with in-progress recordings. Any fix? Frankly, my preferred fix would be getting the tvOS app up to speed, mostly because I have to fix the webOS app pretty often and it uninstalls itself periodically.

Try restarting the NextPVRServer (so that it updates it's address with nextpvr.com), then kill the app on your tv and try restarting it.

tried that. Unfortunately it did not fix the problem.
BTW, holding the back button does not kill the app for me. It exits, but when you reopen it it goes directly to the same place. Only shutting off the TV seems to kill the app for me.

You can look at https://nextpvr.com/servers.php, to confirm it's returning the correct ip address for your server.

Alternatively, search for instructions for killing apps on your specific TV. I'm sure they provide a mechanism.
That's it. It's returning the address assigned by a VPN to another LAN. Disconnecting from the VPN took care of it. I believe you are aware of this issue, of the server providing an incorrect address (like this case and also bridges set up by parallels desktop). It is more obvious with other clients that show you the server address.
As for holding down the back button, it used to work but no longer does. It exits the app, but when you go back to the app it has not shut down. Turning off the TV works. The behaviour may have started after one of the occasions when it disappears and had to be reinstalled (I assume the developer app required to install it expires it periodically).

I think the dev tools may remove the app if your tv ip address changes, so a static ip or reservation in your router may help. |
