If I remember correctly, there was a minor issue renaming the data folder which I got around by stopping the NPVR service. Anyway...
I spoke too soon! It broke again!
All I did was restart the service and it killed it again!
I was able to delete a couple of dead channels, scan for new versions of those channels plus I added a couple of new ones.
When trying to map the new channels to the xmltv id in my epg file, the new channels were not listed as options and I assumed NPVR was using an old cached version of the file from before the channels were added. I hoped that restarting the service might refresh the xml file but instead it brought the problem back!

I've tried everything we previously discussed, including another full reinstall. I also tried disabling windows firewall.
Given the fact that this happens even after a clean install, with the default config file, I think that something else on this pc is interfering somehow, blocking the connection that the browser error mentions.

I get that you say you think it's a browser issue but four browsers on two different PCs and all suddenly suffering the same issue at the same time? I've deleted all the data from the browsers plus I've run CCleaner on the server to get rid of any other junk. Javascript is definitely enabled and working, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a site these days that doesn't completely rely on it (including this forum site) but I doubled checked it on https://www.whatismybrowser.com/detect/i...t-enabled/ which also confirms it.

What do you mean by renaming the data folder since the defined one is actually hardcoded? In any case the explanations you have explained so far never did explain what was going one last time so I am not surprised. It does not feel like a browser issue to me.

Really without logs right when the rescan issue occurs we can't help you. I think you are needlessly reinstalling too.

You told me to rename the data folder before reinstalling NPVR to retain the files with my channels etc so I could copy them back after the reinstall. As you pointed out previously, it refused to rename the folder due to a locked file, I copied the folder instead and then uninstalled. That side of things is irrelevant anyway, the problem happens with a clean install, before restoring my backed-up config and db files.

If I've understood you correctly, you want the log from immediately after I've tried to open the non-working channels page, this is it:

Assuming for now we are ONLY talking about a clean install which these aren't since there is no scan and the EPG wasn't set according to the first log but it is very incomplete. However since only 7 minutes are missing I can only assume you copied config.xml and npvr.db3 at this point and didn't really do a clean install.

I see you trying to load sever folders from a N: drive is that a share?

If I was you trying to use DVB-S in the UK, I suggest just using the OTA guide data and personally I would try the prerelease but let's wait for a real clean install too work.

Sorry, that wasn't from clean install, N:\ is an SSD directly in the server, not a mapped network drive.

I've just reinstalled again, clean db and config files...
On the settings site, I clicked "devices" (nothing happens), I then clicked "channels" (nothing happens) and then I ctrl-f5 refreshed the about page before downloading the logs....

That is not a clean install either you probably just reinstalled the application (not necessary). A clean install would be to rename or delete NPVR-Data.

Instead let's see if we can get you existing scan to work. Go to Settings->Channels->Advanced tools. Automap to None and then Automap to your XMLTV and then do the EPG update.

If that fails upload the zipped logs and it would be useful for you to zip up config.xml to let us see your configuration.

I'm not sure if this has any relevance but I noticed when uninstalling from the windows settings>>apps page, it lists the version number as 5.x.x.x whereas the NPVR about page says it's v6.1.5.231022
It might be nothing but I'd feel silly if I didn't mention it and then it turned out to be important!

The uninstaller probably hasn't changed version. In any case I would just follow my lead.

Martin, I think we've got our wires crossed here. I cannot open the channels page, that has been the problem all along.
Whether I use my own db and config files, or those from a clean install, I cannot open ""Devices" or "Channels" pages, even though, when using my original config files, I can still watch the channels on my kodi box and the epg seems to update ok.
The mapping thing is not the problem, I only mentioned it as I was just explaining what I did immediately prior to the fault happening again and why I had restarted the service when I did.

The reason I don't use OTA data from the UK Astra DVB-S2 satellite is that it only provides two shows worth of data, Now and Next, which is inconvenient, especially since it stops streaming any channel you might be watching when an epg update occurs, that becomes even more inconvenient if you have to schedule hourly updates.
