OK that could be something at the OS level intercepting remote keys.

So far so good. I found if you click on the info button on the popup control bar, the program info displays on a popup, but you cannot close it by clicking on the close button, you must use esc key to exit.
Is multi screen implemented in this version? Control n seems to do nothing.  A few keys are different from v2. I noticed some keys follow NPVR.exe. I've been comparing the 2 charts on your github page.
The thumbnails are dead accurate on recordings. You hit enter on a thumbnail, you go to that exact frame not a few seconds before or after.
Currently I am running as localhost on my main PC. I want to install this client on my mini PC in the living room connected to the TV as a remote client and see how that works. Let me know if you have any updated debs.
The testing continues.....

The UI client mouse interface is a bit odd but improved in y3 but far from perfect, the side button is ESC too. The I key is best for playback information

The key mapping isn't perfect there are 5 standards involved. Keep track of what does work from the keyboard.

It is not exact frame but it does work pretty well certainly the best change.

I decided to avoid the complexities of multi screen and focus on multi platform which is complex enough on its own

Installed yauiclient on another PC, the mini PC in the living room. Will not launch. Mini PC has the same system installed, Linux Mint 22.3.
Wanted to try it as a remote client. I''ll give you the  the logs from  the yauiclient generated in my home folder. See what you make of it.
Does this mean the client only will work as localhost?

No yauiclient is designed for remote connection, are they on the same subnet, the server is running and there is no special firewall? if so from the command line try pruning on console mode to see if you see any other connection information

/usr/bin/yauiclient -c

If they aren't on the same subnet you would need to edit yauiclient.json

Same home network and firewall ports are set up correctly. My Android phone works and I can access NPVR through the web interface on the mini PC. Ports open are 8866 and 16891 (for android).

The json file as shown on the mini PC:

Code:
{
    "client_id": "a0974d59-5c69-45f1-b44c-834287971056",
    "deinterlace": true,
    "fullscreen": false,
    "host": "",
    "monitor": 0,
    "pathsubstitution": {
        "substitute": []
    },
    "protocol": "http",
    "resolution": "1280x720",
    "server_port": 8866,
    "shutdown": false,
    "sid": ""
}

As you can see there is no host ip. When I try to enter it manually, it automatically deletes the ip address from the json file when I try to launch the app.
The hashed pin entry is missing which I can see on the host PC's json file.

I will need to see the zipped server logs to see if there are connection requests.

So am i, so now worry on the version. I see the connection attempt from 10.0.0.20.

Could you re-add 10.0.0.85 to the host and from the terminal try the -c option again to see if some information goes to the console.

I was able to establish a connection after disabling the firewall on both devices, the host PC and the mini. Then I turned on the firewall on both PC's and are working fine even after a few reboots to make sure.
Was there a hidden port needed to initialize the connection? Got me scratching my head on this one.
