Pioneer4x4 Wrote:Sub, I think I got a failed recording due to the padding bug again.

I had a show until 4 with 1 min post padding, and a show starting at 4 with 1 pre padding. The second show did not start. It did not show up in the tray app. The first recorded until 4:01. There was a 0 byte file from the second show, and it showed up in GBPVR in "recordings".

Here is a snipped of the log where I think it happened.
Also, the first show's file (STNG) only had the 2 min overlap of both shows. 3:59-4:01.

First of all; all you hard work is greatly appreciated Sub.

Padding bug? My wife was complaining that a couple of her shows were not working. One was listed but was 0 bytes and the other didn't record at all. I chalked it up "user error" but Pioneer's post discribes exactly what happened. Only difference is I only have one capture card (PVR-150). The incident caused the DVR's WAF to drop a notch or two. :-(

I can try and recreate the condition and send the logs if you'd like.

Thanks sub, I'll give it a try. Since most of these files I use are mpegs it shouldn't be an issue, however if you can add support for AVI's and other video formats in the future that would be great.

BTW thanks for the new version, looking forward to going home and testing Smile

The padding bug that Pioneer is talking about only effects multiple card sources on the one card (ie one for the tuner, and one for svideo), and only when you have back to back recordings which switch from one of these to another on the same physical device.

The problem is if you have
1> Multiple capture sources on a single capture device
2> 2 shows recording back to back on different sources (on the same device)
3> padding enabled causing an overlap

I guess I need to put SpikeTV to record on the cable box so this doesn't happen until/if this is not an issue. Or I guess I could buy a 500, and not worry about it.

To be honest with you, its pretty unlikely. This feature is way way down the priority list.

haha as long as it's on the list, maybe one day when you're caught up with all the other features Smile No rush, and thanks again.

Hey Sub,

My wife and I have enjoyed your program for a long time and with each release it gets better and better.

I eagerly updated to this latest version, and to my dismay, up came a .NET error when it tried to start the Config after installing.

I had backed up my database, so I'm not worried about losing it, and I even tried uninstalling GB-PVR and reinstalling it. I also check and I have the latest .NET framework installed on my Win2K box. I don't know the best way to give you the error, but copying-and-pasting it in, so here it is (sorry!):
Code:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

It looks like you're missing a file (NativeUtilities.dll). Try reinstalling.

So, I tried reinstalling and the problem still happens. NativeUtilities.dll (I see where you saw that now) is there and in the right place. In fact, I can copy over the previous version I had of it (0.93.10 I think), Windows asks if I want to overwrite, I choose Yes, and Config doesn't complain about missing the file, it's just missing a method (I didn't think it'd work, I was just checking file names).

Can maybe somebody post their NativeUtilities.dll so I can compare?
