i'm using the older seperate version from wiki..[1.0.4] and have an interesting problem with the channel naming...
i'm trying just to get my digital listings out, and while they're in there, i find no way to only specify them for output..dupes on name and number, and even using the include/excludes, i can't figure out a way to get the channels i want.. to illustrate, i have local digital channels in the full xml: Code: <channel id="0002"> but even if i only include certain numbers and callsigns, and exclude the dupe channel #'s, either i exclude one i want, or include one i don't.. only way i can see to solve completely, is to allow include/exclude based on ch # AND sign...like exclude 11 KTRK but keep 11 KTRKDT and 8370 KTRK [note the dupes on names and numbers,if i exclude 11, i miss 11 KTRKDT..if i exclude KTRK, i miss 8370 KTRK....see my point?] if i could only exclude '11 KTRK' then it'd work fine..[btw,tried it] [or only include the ones i specifically want..then noone would need a excluder at all] (say, include '11 KTRKDT') i'm thinking that would solve the channel mapping problems for others also in big sat/cable markets..

Other than that, what's the but? pBS Wrote:i'm using the older seperate version from wiki..[1.0.4] and have an interesting problem with the channel naming...Hmmm, this is a situation I didn't anticipate. I'll try to have a solution for you in the next day or two.

Home Basic does not include Media Center.

When you install, it asks you to specify your system, and takes care of the rest. I will have a new version of the GUI available with the newest versions of whurlston's utilities...

The utilities are actually developed on Vista (Home Premium), I had to backport them and do a separate build for 2005.
As Frank said, the installer detects your version of windows and installs the appropriate version. There is an override just in case the detection doesn't work.

Thanks Whurlston and Zehd (and anyone else i may have forgotten) for coming up with this and developing/supporting it.
So far things are going well. One thing I will try doing later in a week or two is sharing this .xml file with my main htpc. My desktop actually runs vista mce but my htpc is just xp. So I'm hoping i can point my htpc to my desktop computer to get the output .xml files. so far it doesnt seem to work, it gives me an error message saying it can't access the file. I figure it's probably a vista security thing that i'll have to sort out. (even though I have file sharing turned on and can access the drive over the network.) Thanks again, great work!

Try setting a share on your XP machine, map it to a drive letter on the Vista machine, then set the output of the util to save it there. Example: Create "C:\EpgFiles" on XP machine and share it as "EpgFiles". Map drive Z:\ on the Vista machine to "\\XpMachine\EpgFiles" Set "dir=z:\" in your config.ini or on the command line. |
