Beta version moves up to version 0.9.2191.36450. Let's try this one out bluesxman!

Even if it works okay, could you look at the SlimmGBPVR.error.log and see if it says anything.

Download latest version from Slimm Solutions.

OK, this one I'm not happy about.

As reported above, after shuffling to SlimmGBPVR .9, then .823, MusicPlayer and Net Radio stopped working. Not seeing any solution I finally decided I had to a full reinstall of GBPVR 95.16 and the other plugins. I saved all my config files into another folder under devnz\gbpvr. Then, still somewhat suspicious about whether SlimmGBPVR might have caused my problems, I decided to do a proper Uninstall of SlimmGBPVR. I went to the GBPVR Start folder and ran 'Uninstall SlimmGBPVR'. While you said SlimmGBPVR only installed 3 files, the uninstaller proceeded to delete seemingly hundreds of files, which ran quickly by the window. My instant reaction was that this was strange, but perhaps you'd made some small change to a lot of skin files or something. Regardless, it all happened in just a few seconds so I couldn't have stopped it anyway.

When it was done, I found that my entire devnz\gbpvr folder was EMPTY! And none of the deleted files appeared in the Recycle Bin. So my config files and mdb files are gone as well. So now I have to rebuild my entire GBPVR setup from scratch -- everything I've worked on and gradually modified for the last few months.

I'm usually a pretty patient and tolerant guy. But suffice it to say, I'm currently displeased.

While sorry is hardly enough for an error in my uninstall script, it's all I can say. I have immediately rectified the error.

I am so sorry. This is a link to an undelete program which may be able to recover your stuff if you haven't used your drive too much. Again, I am so sorry. FreeUndelete

Aww, man. I am really really sorry about that bug. As is somewhat obvious, I never uninstalled on my own system, I simply installed the next version over the top.

The recursive directory removal command is now removed from the uninstall script. My most abject and humble apologies again to those affected by this.

I had a little play with the beta version and have come across a couple of funnies...
The first is that I only have 4 entries displayed from my Recordings folder (the oldest 4) when there are quite a few more, is this by design?
Also, without any mouse-clicking or keyboard presses, I sometime get a popup confirming a delete action, see the attached image for details. It doesn't happen every time, nor have I worked out a way to consistently repoduce it, but it does happen regularly.

Finally (!), here is the error dumped in the error log:

Code:
SlimmGBPVR.exe Information: 0 : Started at 01/01/2006 19:28:31 SlimmGBPVR.exe Error: 0 : RecordingsToolStripMenuItem_Update Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index

Cheers!

  3. the error dumped in the error log

  1. No, this is not by design, it is an error that may be caused by your folder structure being different to mine. The recordings are presented with the most recently modified file at the bottom. I would be interested to see what the next most recently modified file after the 4Music one is (to be clear, if you list the files in Explorer and sort by date modified it will be the one below 4Music), as it is this that it causing the error.
  2. If you launch a recording from the system tray icon, Slimm GBPVR keeps an eye on it and when you finish watching it asks you if you want to delete it. This is by design.
  3. This error confirms points 1 that my program is having a bit of drama trying to understand your recordings folder.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could post (or send to me privately if you wish) the location and a list of the contents of your recording folder to help me track down this problem.

I am interested to note that the listings are called "folder" and they have an Adobe? icon. Do you keep empty folders for shows you record on a recurring basis and keep a "folder.jpg" file for the thumbnail view in Windows Explorer?

For example, my recordings directory is "R:\Recordings\", I have "auto-create folders when recording" checked in GBPVR config, I use RenameRecordings in PostProcessing.bat and my recordings directory contains the following files:
  • Snow White\
    + Snow White_20051224_16251810.mpg
  • The Big Sleep\
    + The Big Sleep_20051225_12301440.mpg
  • Black Narcissus\
    + Black Narcissus_20051224_12001335.mpg
  • The Sword of Xanten\
    + The Sword of Xanten_20051223_12351545.mpg
  • Lost\
    + Born to Run.mpg
  • Looney Tunes\
    + Catty Cornered.mpg
    + Daffy's Inn Trouble.mpg

Ah, it makes sense now! Two of the items that showed up in the recordings list were jpgs (dvd cover images). I clicked on one of those with launched my image viewer, closed it and played about with the menu again. The delay between doing that and the popup appearing led me to think that it was a random occurrence!

The folder item that shows up in the listing is indeed folder.jpg, though I use it for displaying images in the Video Archive plugin rather than Windows Explorer.

Well it looks like the problem with the display of my recordings is down to having empty folders (something is obviously not tidying up properly!). I found that out after typing all the above, but I'll leave it there in case it's still useful.

Cool, and do all the recordings now appear in the Recordings menu?
