I uploaded a new version to the wiki that implements sorting in the Movie and Video screens. It's the same sorting as in the Ready & Pending screens since it's the same code displaying both lists (not separated as you requested).

Give it a try and let me know how it goes. I'm on NTFS and date sorting worked for me but I'm not sure if the dates coming from your server will work.

If anyone is using the "Merge Video and Ready" mode the sorting might be weird since I haven't implemented mixed sorting.

That seems to have done the trick, for both sorting methods. Thanks, again!

I finally remembered the reason I don't like to turn on Filename sorting for Recordings. The problem is that I have recordings on two different disks. When using the date-based sorting, it all looks good. But with filename based sorting, it appears to include the full path in the sort string so files are clustered based on which drive they are stored on.

But it appears that Xrecord allows me to toggle the sort order while viewing the folder (Did you just enable this? I thought I tried this before with no luck) so I can make it work the way I want with minimal effort.

Every time I run into some behavior that makes me think I will have to switch to a different video manager, you come through.

I just uploaded a version that filename sorts only on the basename instead of the full path. I never noticed this since all my recordings are in the same location. Thanks for reporting and identifying it so clearly.

The yellow and green working sort buttons are new to the Video screen but they have been working in the Ready screen since this.

Glad to help. I really appreciate the feedback. Many of the bug reports and enhancement requests benefit my PVR experience too so its a win win.

fla Wrote:I just went into XGuide and did Quick Record on "The Office" which is a few hours from now. I've never recorded this show before. I then went into XRecord's Pending screen and no image available was there. I then went into the Stop/Ctrl-S menu and selected the download with program image tool (which I have installed). I then got a poster for "The Office" in the pending screen and the file "The Office.jpg" in the devnz\gbpvr\media\art folder had the current time stamp so it seems new Pending shows can have posters.

Sorry been busy! Hmm ... I think it was related to the aposrophe " ' " in Friend's of "My Best Friend's Wedding". Seems like the image grabber I used find's Friend's but my xmltv (TVxB) just uses Friend's.

fla Wrote:How did you put the images in media\art? Is it possible the name is not exactly what XRecord is expecting?

Manually, using WizImageGrabber. It has a much better hate rate the ProgrammeImageTool, any chance of adding WizImageGrabber as a Grabber instead of ProgrammeImageTool ?

fla Wrote:If there's nothing in the log file, I could create a special version with more logging to figure out the problem. Any strange characters like apostrophe are removed from the filename if I remember correctly so "America's" would become "Americas".

That was it!

Glad you got the images working in the Pending screen. I just uploaded a new version that uses WizImageGrabber first, ProgramImageTool second and XRecord's own obsolete download code third. I also added sorting to the Watched screen since it's hard to find the show I want to delete when I had a bad recording and want to delete it from there. Also fixed a small bug in the Date sorting in Ready screen.

fla,
Seems to work ... :-), thanks!

couple of comments, the message abut WizImage and ProgrammeImage is in the pending screen but on the ready screen?

just a heads-up in case anyone comes back to you about it, I have had problems with WizImage in Vista (see http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=42921), so I get around it by disabling Interactive Services Dialog Detection. Others may have a similar issue in Vista using it, just in case you get a rash of complaints. So far no other way around it.

It's the same popup in the Ready screen as in the Pending screen. The buttons to download an image are only there if there is no image already. In that case the button to delete the image should be there. Not sure I understand the bug, maybe a screenshot would clarify?

Thanks for the heads up about WizImageGrabber and Vista.

I found one other issue with the filename sorting. In the pending list, it also tries to sort by filename. But it appears to use the episode name. This causes pending episodes to be displayed in 'random' order for a given show depending on the title of the episode. Not a huge deal, but I thought I would mention it.
