Thank You sub...this software really shows what is possible for a high quality Media Center Application.

I was getting really annoyed at hauppauge that the WinTV software can only provide a down-coverted AC3 to Stereo PCM. With this software I can open it up and get the original audio stream to my card, Hauppauge needs to take a lesson from you.

I also was getting tired of Soundgraph's Media Library functionality, which doesn't even keep up to date on deleted files without manual intervention.

What I am saying is that you make a nice product that is relatively stable and others need to learn from your lead.

I was upgrading from 1.1.5 with a couple of mods in my skin and in the config.xml, so I was expecting to spend the morning on it. - In 15 mins it was all working (including my backup). Amazing!
Quick question - what does the choice between standby and hibernate in the PVRX2 Configuration plugin - (The new one) actually do? I thought this was a Windows setting.

I've been having problems with other pvr software and I thought I'd come back to GBPVR and have a go at it again.

I recently installed Windows XP and put service pack 3 on the machine. I then installed a bunch of my usual apps for a pvr (dvd shrink, winamp remote, and so on).

I've then tried to install 1.2.13 but it's immediately encountered issues:

Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\GBPVRWriter.ax failed to register.

Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\GBPVRPsiParser.ax failed to register.

Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\WSTSRTDigital.ax failed to register.

Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\GBPVRTSReader.ax failed to register.

Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\scflt.dat failed to register.

Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\GBPVRTSMon.ax failed to register.

I have a Core 2 duo 1.8ghz, 2gb ram, XP SP3, Dvico Fusion HDTV Dual DBV-T card and a Hauphage PVR 150 card, both with the latest drivers installed.

Any pointers?

Problems should be posted in the support thread but it sounds like you need to install the VC runtimes.

Thanks for the update...it works great! I noticed the new release allows resolution changes for the Hauppauge HD-PVR. Any chance this function could be created for other DVB recording cards? Specifically I have a Hauppauge 1600 and a KWorld ATSC tuner and would love to be able to record at a lower bit rate to save HD space. Thanks again for your hard work!

It is possible with the HD PVR because the hardware encodes the video converting it from analog to digital. With other DB cards, the stream is already digital and the card just passes the stream. You would need to transcode it in software to change the resolution which GBPVR already supports with the conversion settings.

It doesnt change the resolution, it just allows for separate bitrates to be specified for each source resolution. This isnt relevent to DVB or ATSC cards since the signal is encoding by the broadcaster prior to transmission.

Thanks to both of you...makes good sense now. Unfortunately, I've been fighting MEncoder trying to get it to transcode my DVR-MS files...I was hoping for an easy fix from GBPVR. I guess I'll continue the MEncoder fight. Thanks again Sub for all your great work. And Whurlston...don't beat yourself up over the specifics...you still understood the situation well enough to help this ignorant user see why his suggestion would not work Wink...
