Get salami's movie organizer at
fladivision.com

Really great. It will download a folder.jpg and create a MyMovies.xml in your movie folder.

Unless I'm missing something, it's only letting me select directories. I have directories with lots of different movies in them as individual avi files. I don't have one directory per movie. Sad

Yeah I gave it a quick go as well, and it didn't seem to pick up .avi files.

It'll never be possible for live preview mode (because of the way it works), but I intend to make it possible timeshift live tv to do this - probably in the next release.

What if I have 2 tuner cards, can something be done then? All the recording on one card and the live on the second?

Has anyone run across a utility that parses a folder (or even file) and generates the info needed? Or do I need to reorganize everything?

I could probably make vidImport spit out a .xml file in the correct format. Then you could use video library or recordings since it imports it into the recordings portion of the database.

That's be spiffy. I hope someone will do something like the Channel Logo Tool that grabs the info from a site and just spits out the xml and jpg to match the movie(s) selected; granted by necessity the CLT writes to the db. That'd be nice.

Writting to the db or embedding in the actual file is nice, but adding just the needed two files to an existing directory seems logical and allows transport to another GB-PVR setup (or a complete fresh install) without mucking around in the db.

A lot of the other utilities posted do this, but on a folder basis. If they'd just parse a folder of movies by filename they'd work equally as well.

Thats fine. You can be recording a few shows on a tuner and watching live tv on another tuner.

Maybe the YAMJ tool designed for the PCH player would work for you. I am sure that it parses the movies by filename because I am using it that way.

I do not know if the XML files generated by the tool are compatible with GBPVR, and of course they would have to be copied to the right folder. Could be worth a try.
