But the original RC seems to work perfectly when the original RC is installed in iMON.

Tried using "Program Specific config" And "Overal config".
None of the buttons seems to work with the MCE Remote.

PS: The problem with my original remote is that the reception is really bad.

I'm at a loss then I am afraid . When you had the MCE remote working (when the display didn't work in the Feb release), the only difference I can see is that the code to run iMON was not being run, due to the exception error. If the "ForceRestart" option is not checked, then iMON should not be restarted, and the situation for the RC should be the same as when you ran the original February release.

When you say you tried using the "Program Specfic" config, does this mean that you tried using these with the iMON Remote and without ExternalDisplay loaded (delete the externaldisplay.dll)?

Anyone else using the MCE remote successfully?

There is also a Mar 30 version of the installer posted in the original post, which is essentially the same as the Mar 29 dll.

This means that I didn't config iMON to emulate keyboard buttons for one program specific. But always. (You can config iMON so that in some windows/programs, other keyboard combinations are emulated.
I tought that maybe there was a problem so I configured the remote in the overall configuration which means that no matter what program/windows is started, it will always be the same keyboard combination that are emulated. Externaldisplay or PVRX2 loaded or not, it still, didn't make no difference. The original remote still keeps working. Unfortionally the mc remote stops working whenever externaldisplay is loaded.
When I start frontview manually when externaldisplay/PVRX2 is loaded. then the MCE remote works again.
That's why I'm guessing there's some sort code that is written for LCD2 that blokks the communication between iMON and the firmware that is written to decode the MCE remote signals. (just guessing) OR there is some sort of f*cked-up code from Soundgraph in the firmware release for LCD2

I don't know, will try the march30 release And an update/downgrade of iMON. Will see if that makes a difference.
I'm guessing that there are no problem reported for MCE remote in the Mediaportal thread?

Owkay, Ralphy, just ignore previous post. I accidently discovered something...

I said before that I thought the problem was that there is some ExternalDisplay-code that is blocking the communication
between iMON and the Receiver. So I did some tests to figure out if I was right or wrong. And I think I’m wrong Smile

I fired up PVRX2, so iMON was restarted, and the MCE remote didn’t work. Again, like usual sinds the march 23 release.

Next, I killed PVRX2 with ProcesExplorer, not Task manager. This because ProcesExplorer provides you a nice three view
of all you running processes with handles and you can see which program is started by what...

You could see that iMON was started by PVRX2. When I killed PVRX2, the iMON process still kept running.
So ExternalDisplay was also killed. It didn’t send any info to the display but my MCR remote still didn’t work.
So that's why I’m guessing I’m wrong.

But, hold on!

Normally I fire up my HPTC with the MCE remote control.

Like, 15 minutes ago, I accidently pressed my power down button when PVRX2 was running. So, the HTPC shut itself down.
This caused the fact that ExternalDisplay didn’t had the chance to restart iMON with frontview like it does normally.
When I tried to fire up the HPTC with the MCE Remote, nothing happened. But when I tried the original one,
the HPTC was powered immediately. Which is normally impossible if you selected to use the MCE remote

I’m guessing, that somewhere in the ExternalDisplay code for LCD2, there is something that makes sure that iMON is started with
the Original Remote Configured and not the MCE remote or whatever remote you’ve selected to use. Could it be?
Or maybe it’s a bug in the Soundgrapgh software.

Already tried the upgrade to 7.4 and the downgrade to 6.2, didn’t make any difference.

I must say, I changed the RC to the original and back to the MCE remote in iMON when PVRX2 was running and that didn’t help.
But when I activate frontview when PVRX2 is running, then the MCR remote immediately works.
I don't think it has something to do with the fact that Frontview is disabled. This because when I deactivate frontview and restart iMON (without PVRX2 running),
the MCE remote keeps working. The only difference wich the times that iMON is restarted by PVRX2 is that the letters "Frontview" are in grey
if you right click the iMON system tray icon.

I mean, it think it’s clear to see, out of these tests, that whenever PVRX2 is started, ExternalDisplay (re)start
iMON with frontview disabled and the default RC installed. But what causes this...
I hope you can figure out what the ‘problem is’ with this info.
In the main time, I'm having a blast with the build in receiver to power on the HPTC. When the whole system is started,
every Remote Action is handled with the original receiver in combination with Event Ghost.

Greetings,
Nick

HI, I been trying to make this to work. I have an Antec Fusion Remote, the one that comes with the Imon lcd.
Since there is no information on wiki and the install instruction are not detailed I'm missing something. For example where do you get the LCDHype Driver? Do I have to install mediaportal for that?

Sorry for the long absence. I had problems with not being able to post for along time when I changed my email address and the system was not sending the verification/activation email. It seems as you cannot reuse an old email address (this is not the first time I've encountered this problem). So I could still log on but couldn't post.

Well back again, and really haven't touch ExternalDisplay for weeks.

Greetings,

For the rest of the forum, I PM'd kindt nick this information back in April:

MediaPortal folks appear to have problems with MCE and minidisplay (which, as you know, external display is a PVRX2 port).

One suggestion was to use IRSS (this was written for MP, but is referenced on the PVRX2 wiki). See here for another suggestion (Neither of which are really ideal).

My only other thought is to force LCD2, and then try the other Antec specific options, although I think all of them should remain unchecked (ie do not ensure running, force restart, or force reload). I am not sure whether you actually tried this.

dalabera - You do not need the LCDHype drivers for the Antec Fusion iMON Display - just select the Soundgraph driver. But hopefully, since your OP was ages ago, you managed to sort this out...

If you are game to retry the plugin and post details of any problems you are having, including logs, I'll see what I can do to help.

There's really nothing really special required in the install, other than running the installer and the external display configuration to select the soundgraph driver as shown in the documentation included in the installer. Start PVRX2, and you should see details on the display.

Not sure what other pointers you need, since your OP didn't contain much information.

After very much reading I have the feeling I am missing a simple but important step with this. I have been trying for a while to get external display to work on my Antec Fusion max (IMON) LCD dislay.

At present the machine is loaded with

IMON manager ver 7.62.0630

IMON firmware version 0x380208

This works as expected.

I have then loaded External display and when PVRX2 is startes the display normaly goes blank although today I have 2 lines accross the the LCD display (one at the top one at the bottom), when the PC goes into standby it displays the time. Any ideas would be helpfull at this stage as to what should work I seem to have tried many differnt versions of IMON as well as the 2 versions I have seen of external display.
Here are the logs in the hope someone can tell me that I have missed something silly as I would really like this to work as it sounds just what I was looking for.

I do have Slimm GB-PVR installed on the machine at the moment is this likely to cause a compatability problem? Thanks in advance to anyone who has any ideas on this.

Please write the steps you used to install the plugin. Hopefully we could start from there. One thing I'm not sure if once installed do you need to keep the imon app running.
