CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PCM45)

I used to use this decoder with a nVidia card when I had Powercinema installed, as it was really old it doesn't work with Hardware Acceleration with ATI cards. It will give a green screen with EVR, but it will work with CPU decoding.

i think power dvd9 might be a bit weird with its decoders also try and get hold of power dvd8
the one with cyberlink pcm45 i think is from a earlier version than power dvd9 so maybe the power dvd9 decoders are not showing up

as for the arcsoft one i have no idea Sub said he used it and he writes the program so you would think it would work so you could keep trying that but from what i read of your post you were not getting any video at all when trying that out

I got my ArcSoft codec when I installed WinTV HD. I like them but (from the AVSForum) it looks as though ArcSoft may have included software keys to restrict their use. Oh well, never mind.

I have tried the other H.264 codec in ‘Settings/Decoders’ in combination with the renderers but without success. If you think it is a codec problem then I don’t know where I go from here. Any value in a reinstall of NPVR?

Exactly which H.264 decoders do you have available?

Unfortunately H.264 decoders arent very interchangeable, with each manufacturer doing things slightly differently.

I doubt it.

These are the codec identified in 'settings/decoders'. The details courtesy of InstalledCodec. The Cyberlink and PCM codec are both installed twice. I can't identify any other H.264 codec on my system but I wouldn't know how to id them apart from the description.

Try using the ArcSoft H.264 decoder, then post the npvr.log and I'll take a look.

Thanks Sub.
Firstly, I have run 'watch'. Black screen with no audio. File created but zero size; deleted by nPVR on exiting.
Secondly, I have run Live TV. Same result.

The above test was done using the Monogram Audio AAC codec in the HE-AAC decoder setting. The AAC setting was disabled.

I was using the ArcSoft H.264 codec.

I got PowerCinema5 as a giveaway with my Hauppauge tuner card so it's been around for awhile. I am going to uninstall it soonest.
