Annoying Choppy Audio

ah. My issue was bitstreamed. Decoded always worked fine for me. Have you tried adjusting your audio device's output settings (48/16, 96/24, 192/24)?

I just did a brief test with the LAV Filter, and it seems promising. No chopping so far, but I'll do more testing.

I have been using this patch (post 20 this thread) for 2 days now with ffdshow for mpeg 2 audio and divx aac for freeview hd.
The glitching audio appears to be gone on the sd transmissions only problem encountered was a glitching on hd at 1 hour and again 1 hour later which was cured by going out and back in to live program - possibly caused by the live file switch over (set at 3600 in the registry)

Its probably not that. When you have it set to 1 hour, it actually changes files every 15 minutes.

Had what seems like a break through. LAV audio filter is looking like the only codec that doesn't stutter. This is with limited testing, and a small issue with intermittent noise on AC3.

Interesting clue Sub, it only works cleanly when I turn off LAV's "auto audio/video sync" option.

I'm way out of my depth here Sub, but is this a case of npvr and audio codecs getting into a race condition over sync control? Or does npvr play no part?

PS the distortion I refer to is a 'crackling' on loud sound tracks that others have flagged in other similar thread.

I've got a full ts dump around 55 seconds / 250 Mb from a TP that gives choppy audio for me, but I cant upload it anywhere. I used to use megaupload but it keeps failing. Anyone recommend a free service for dumping it somewhere for Sub to grab?

Thanks NumberFive, great idea. I signed up for a free Dropbox account then discovered ADrive so have signed up for one of them too. Uploaded the sample and sent sub the link. So hope it proves useful. Although if people are finding improvements with the LAV filter, I might have to give that ago.
