Yes I use xbmc special names http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Special_protocol so if it is in the profile folder it should persist. I do log this name in xbmc.log

mvallevand Wrote:What if you set you tv to 1080i? I changed the resolution in XBMC from 1920x720p to 1920x1080p and the problem is gone. The quality appears to be as good as the NMT. Yeah!

Is it possible to get it so that the "Exit" menu option from the "NextPVR Web Client" will take the user back to the X-NEWA screen? Or, even better yet, would be to completely bypass the X-NEWA screens and be able to directly from the XBMC menu into NextPVR Web Client and then to have the NPVR Exit menu item go back to the XBMC menu.

In Settings change the interface to NextPVR to bypass the dashboard If you want to go to x-newa from boot, autostart using this script following instructions here http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Autoexec.py Code: import xbmc Martin

Here's the link to the instructions on the XBMC wiki on setting up path substitution. http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Path_substitution Because of the non-standard way NextPVR is streaming (originally for the NMT not sure if it is still required) by filename the Video Library file playback won't necessarily play using it from a networked client. Recordings should still work since it uses another streaming mode. Sub says he will look at it for the next version so I will probably stay in this pre-release mode for a while.
The advantage to substitution is that comskip works with recordings and library files. If you have trouble setting it up, send you xbmc.log and I'll check. Martin

I was wrong in earlier post saying the margro changes were in recent Gothams, apparently they aren't approving hist changes to the baseline so I guess the improvements I am seeing are just the newer ffmpeg.
On an un-related note x-newa prerelease doesn't work on Gotham builds after Oct 18. I'm still tyring to find out what the cause is. Martin

The XBMC devs fixed the python bug that had briefly broken x-newa playback.

Fotball season is over, time to mess with the tv backend for xbmc again. Xbmc-pvr is moving painstaking slow. So obviously this got my attention.
This web client thing looks really cool. However how is one supposed to exit it ? Pressing Esc does nothing, using Exit makes it temporary freeze and then come back in a low resolution version. Using global xbmc keys to jump to other menues work, but it's still running. btw I'm using gotham builds. I also have some problems with controls on playback, skipping back/forward doesn't work, neither does rewind. Don't know if this is a known issue or related to my custom git build. Really interesting stuff this, also as mentioned - staring web client directly from xbmc main menu and exit back to main menu again would be really cool.

I have made some requests and suggestions but this client is low priority for him and we have to wait for his next version Quote:btw I'm using gotham builds. I am too, I should upload a small update which adds a new playback mode in gotham, it can call sub's pvr player which provides a nicer timeline fot live tv/. Arrow and comma skipping works on recording, you probably mean on live tv. You might get it working using the new option to call sub's timeshift mode, but ymmv, Quote:Really interesting stuff this, also as mentioned - staring web client directly from xbmc main menu and exit back to main menu again would be really cool.
