mvallevand Wrote:... and don't even bother with x-newa. I just want to see edl files working for you in Kodi libraries, first in Windows and then on the RPi.

Just to make sure that readers know how to do this:
  1. Go to the "Videos" on the main kodi menu
  2. Then go down to "Files"
  3. Then select "Add videos..."
  4. And click on the "Browse" button
  5. On the PC, the local drives should each be listed. On the RPi, you would select "Windows network (SMB)", then your workgroup, server, and share
  6. Once you get to the top level folder for recordings (or the share for the recordings) (NOTE: you will still see folders that you could go down into, but you don't want to go down into them at this point because you are pointing to the top level of the directory structure for recordings), click the "OK" button on the right side
  7. Then in the "Add Video source" dialog, go to the bottom and click the "OK" button
  8. For testing, you can just leave the content type set to "(None)" so that kodi won't try to scrap info for all the files in the folder/share
  9. Now from the Videos | Files list, you can select the folder/share and go down to select a specific .ts file to play

Did comskip work on Ghost and did it show the edl breaks on the context menu that Brett talked about? If so you might to turn on DEBUG logging for me to see it on the log.

Martin - The RPi2 run; From Videos.
Show is Ghost; then I tried LoTR for good measure.
It'll be the kodi.old.log as the Pi turns off with the TV so had to turn it.
iIt's 1:45am here - work tomorrow.

Thanks for your patience Martin.

No, the context menu "c" did not show up anything; in either trial. I can try and set debug mode for you but it'll have to be tomorrow now. I'm knackered :-)

It might be share permissions on the edl file. Copy Ghost.. including the edl file to a folder on the C Drive and try it from there.

jksmurf:

You didn't tell us whether the edl file was used. Also, you need to turn on debug logging in kodi. (Main menu: System | Settings | Debugging | "Enable debug logging")

Are you saying that while playing a video, when you press "c", you don't get the overlay with all of the video information?

Pressing "c" brings up Both have a transparent-ish overlay with a black box. In X-Newa it has two dots top LH Cnr.
In Kodi videos it shows the file name; that's it.
