Rebooting cleared things up for now. I only see 3 instances of NextPVR.exe. (Does the MVP/NMT setting enable extras? I'm not sure.) My wifes scheduled recordings for the night have started now, so I can't test any more. All her stuff is on MPEG-2 channels, which are still working fine. I have to go out of town in the AM for a few days. I'll be happy to continue testing/troubleshooting upon my return. Smile

Thanks!

I thought I remembered that from long ago. So that explains why I normally have 3, as I have 2 NMT sessions running. At one time last night I had 11 instances, rather than 3.

I've noticed my Comcast channels changing to h264 as well. Everything works fine with my Ceton/SageDCT/NPVR setup, except that all the channels that changed to h264 no longer display Subtitles. I'm not sure which end the problem is on, but it's kind of annoying. The channels still using Mpeg2 still have subtitles.

Yeah, unfortunately there is no support for North American style Closed Captions in H.264 streams in NextPVR.

Maybe. It wont be in the next release, which is almost done, but if you guys can supply a couple of sample recordings with captions, I can look into adding support for them.

sub,
I will gladly help as soon as I can.
My local Comcast sent me a notice that they will be switching to MPEG-4 on Dec. 6th.

Comcast is still switching a few channels to h.264 each week. (With NO pattern or schedule. It's up to me to find them! :o ) Most are working, but for some reason one channel cannot be watched. I just get a black screen with no audio. However, a .ts file is being created. The .ts file plays in MPC, but VLC chokes on it, yet I can watch the channel live in the HD HomeRun View app. I can record a show but when I try to watch it in NPVR it instantly comes up with the "This recording was watched to completion. Would you like to delete this recording?" popup onscreen.

I uploaded a chunk of the first 25MB of a recording to dropbox: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2693...m-chunk.ts

Is there anything obviously wrong/different about the file? I did notice that MediaInfo can't tell me anything about the recording files from this channel. It just lists that it's an MPEG.TS file, with none of the other details that I normally see.

I want to have as much info as possible before I attempt to engage Comcast support as to why this channel is different than the others they have switched to h.264. I have a feeling that getting through to the right person that would actually understand the problem would be a Herculean task. Sad

I have also attached my logs, with an attempt to watch channel 621, USAHD, at 12:05.

What tools can look deeper into these recordings to show/compare what is different about them?

Thanks!

Can you list out the channels you see that have changed? I have an hdhomerun prime and nextpvr setup and getting ready to move the intel nuc into the master bedroom as the cable box to get rid of the monthly comcast box...id like to try them and see if that works. I know in my master bedroom (has the low def cable box) and I lost spike tv and a few other channels to the HD world...
