Still pretty ugly since all the entire image is obscured with overlay.

Since they're never displayed that large. (Though it will download slightly larger landscape images if they're available) If Kodi is going to be blowing them up to nearly fullscreen, it does sounds like it should probably be asking for the fanart instead. Appreciate this is probably very low priority and thank you for all your work!

Martin, if it's easier than changing the plugin, I could have the backend just deliver the fanart file when kodi asks for the landscape image? (or optionally do it based on config.xml setting)

It does look better but I would not say good. Right now Kodi is getting the default that sub sets without a preference
https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.nextpvr/...s.cpp#L445 and I am not sure what the default is. A server change could fix that. I could see the option of not providing any backdrop since I can't make it look good. Really this should be an issue for GitHub since Estuary is probably designed for backends that don't provide fanart. If we are going to send fanart it should be worth it. I will go back to my original discussion with sub that landscape should still prefer higher res if 1280x720 is not available. Low res rarely is good. Martin

Low res rarely is good.In the examples I looked at: - 1280x720 was the highest 16:9 image SD were returning, and it's using this for the fanart. - 480x270 was the highest 16:9 image SD were returning with title info, and it's using this for the landscape. These are often much better images than the larger ones, which are typically cast ensembles, so I'd prefer to still use these in NextPVR where it's not needing them to be huge anyway.

I still think that landscape selection should allow art with no titles from Schedules Direct. rather then restricting things to junk. That filter is only imposed on SD.
