Quote:I am showing canada has tve For sure TSN has web and app access and I think TVE technology is even involved. Rogers (my provider) also as its own web app. Trouble is tuning a specific channel is hard programmatically and very customized so nothing easy for sub or I to do. For example TSN-1 might work but not 2-5 I am researching it though since one day linear TV could die. I am watching with interest what is going on with DirectTV and Disney to see if there is a change in how cable is bundled. My cable bill isn't too bad (100 channels, including TSN/SportsNet "free" Disney+ and 2 boxes for tuning) for $45 CDN which is $34 US which is reasonable to get every channel in a grid, flip easily between games without apps, no configuration etc and of course NextPVR integration. I am sure it works on tsn too, but would need a vpn to test https://community.getchannels.com/t/espn...ustv/31144 They could probably add support. It looks like canada's pricing is what America's should be adjusted for inflation (we just have a bit more greedy corporations). Would love to get Canadian tv to have watched stuff like letterkenny/trailerparkboys/schitts creek/ Canadian Football when they came on air. VPN is basically required sadly.

I hadn't see EPLus TV but that should work with NextPVR, but I'd use SD and not bother with their guide. It seems to be all based on one Disney API that no doubt they have to keep on updating it until it isn't possible. Quite cool.
I can't see why you think Disney API's would work here or with other system that don't share that API. As for my cable bill with Internet s $74 US but that is 24 month retention pricing, and it took a few calls to get it. The companies are hungry now we shall see what happens in a couple of years, it could easily double based on published rates. My cableco also doesn't provide FTTH yet so right now my 1.5Gb service "only" gives me 1.9 Gb so there is some bargaining power. Martin

Well it works with fox sports as well (not disney), and mountain west, which mountainwest lets you stream for free online, also other networks arent disney owned. Also, TSN is an offshoot of ESPN which is Disney. I use it to record 4k broadcasts on fox and random games that only play online like ESPN3/SEC+ etc. It works fine on nextpvr no issues.

Since we really need TSN and Sportsnet getting just TSN wouldn't make me investigate the API. Martin

It looks like TSN can be bought standalone, ESPN offers ESPN+ but they only play trash games. ESPN access requires a major provider to login. I am not sure about new zealand, being more rural they likely don't have much streaming yet.

Yes most stations stream now, but I wouldn't be as optimistic as you as thinking all sites can scrapped. After all what they have now is such a small set of what is on cable. This is a general discussion thread but I personally am not interested in EPlus TV maybe others will be once you confirm it works.
