So my follow up question is about how I can import the old recordings into the new V7 instance of NextPVR.
It's my understanding that I need to have .xml files in order to import recordings. With the old V4 system, I have the recording-backup.xml file. So will the following work to import using that metadata:
Open the old recording-backup.xml in a text editor.
Take the data for maybe 10 recordings and copy it into a new text file.
Change the storage location path for each recording to the new path (in my case on a NAS instead of the original Win10 computer harddrive).
Save the file with the .xml extention.
In the new instance of NextPVR, use the import function and import this .xml file with the updated paths.
Repeat......Repeat.....
Alternatively, if using the --import option as you mentioned earlier, would the correct usage be '--import /path to/location of recording folder/', which in my case would be the folder on my NAS into which I've copied all the recordings from the V4 instance (as seen in the NextTool log)? In the new V7 instance of NextPVR, I've already got the tuners and channels set up the same as the old V4 instance, and I don't necessarily need to transfer the recording schedule - there are only a few shows and I can set those up again. I think that would accomplish what I want, if it gets the old recordings visible in the new instance.
