Out of complete frustration I did a clean install of 94.12. Things seem to be highly fragile and any number of simple things can result in the system rebooting. For example selecting LiveTV is normally OK, but in the last 15 minutes doing so resulted in a spontaneous reboot.

Updating the EPG results while the LiveTV is running results in very choppy video and total loss of audio. It requires exiting and reentering LiveTV to get the audio back.

And now something completely new has been added. I now have a new message alternating with my Next Recording " Transcoding ... " with the name of a program that was recorded back in July --- it sits on 0% complete forever and never seems to do anything. But since I never requested it to transcode anything it only seems fair that it never actually does anything.

I'm not sure if it happened immediately after installation of this latest update, but I've noticed a weird issue:

My Hauppauge 45-button remote for PVR150 works in GBPVR, and I can change channels by pressing the CH-UP and CH-DOWN buttons, but none of the number buttons work.

I'm not sure if it's the new version or something else; I was messing around with my MPEG encoders and some color settings, but I don't know if those would affect the remote. I made sure to click the "Fix 45-button remote" button in the Config app, as well as selecting ".exe changer plugin." I also tried rebooting and clearing my temp files.

Is this a new issue or has anyone come across this before? I can't seem to find any mention of it in the forums...

Ah yes, I also checked BlastCFG and Restart the IR, but to no avail.

I'm sorry, I hope it's not coming across that I'm spamming, but I just trying to provide as much info as possible.

I tried browsing through the guide and pressing the OK button. In the menu, I selected WATCH and the IR transmitter successfully changed the channel on my cable box.

The problem definitely seems to be that the number buttons are not being recognized. I checked my irremote.ini file, but the number settings appear unchanged.

Did you press the enter key after typing the numbers?

Hmmm, I tried what you said and pressed the OK button on the remote after my number-key presses and it works.

I've never had to do this before. Is this a new feature? Is there any way to customize so that I don't have to press the OK every time?

Thanks for your quick response, btw.

Hi Sub,

after the update to the 94.12 Version all scheduled recordings where deleted,
only the reocurring recordings he left in the database ...

and in the night he woke up, started the recording, but after all he only had
a 0 byte file, but he was on all over the time, coz the log from comskip said
it was started after done recording ...

when i made an manual recording or do timeshift everything is ok, but when
schedule a record from epg - he wont record it.

after several restarts he was recording again when schedule from epg, but as
he had to wake up, the computer crashed and i had to hard reset him ...

i done a fresh reinstall with the 93.10 version, i will report if the problems are
gone or not.

if u want some log files from the 94.12 install, i done a backup before, so just
tell which file do u need ...

Any idea what would cause this message? I got a .net exception... I was recording at the time and gbpvr was in the main menu screen. Also does the BDA multiplexer have any effect on the GO7007 recording /multiplexer. I was having some trouble with the Recording Service not stopping after it was done reocording. The recording would stop, the log would show that GBPVR told it to stop, but the icon would stay green and the Plextor box would still have the record light on. I switched to the SS multiplexer and I had a good record, not sure if it is something else though. I am running 94.12, I had everything work correctly under 93.11.

Thanks!

with the 93.10 version everthing seems to be ok again ... the machine wakes up
as it should - no crash after wake up ... he records as he should ...

dont know why my pc dont like the 94.14 version - the epg part is very interessting
for me and works in the latest version without problems so far .... even the prob
with the characters wasnt there anymore ...

i hope u find this nasty bug ... put it then in a box and never let it out again Smile

No, I'm not really sure. Its something to do with the transcoding logic, but I'm not sure exactly what caused. If you'd tried to use the Transcoding functionality in the previous build (v0.94.8), then it may be a hang over from a bug in that release.

If you have Microsoft Access you open GBPVR.MDB and delete the contents of the TRANSCODE_QUEUE table to correct. If you dont have MS Access, you can email the file to me and I'll remove the offending record.

No it doesnt. The SS mux thing would have been a coincidence. This setting is not checked until it is setting up a recording on a BDA device.
