load config
edit twinhan card 1

wait for a bit (with one twinhan and working fine picked up epg progams immediately)

My Sapphire Theatrix 550 works fine with version 0.92.11, but not with 0.95.14.

I tried setting <AutoDetectEncoderMethod>1</AutoDetectEncoderMethod>
but it makes no difference.

As I go between the two versions, I am uninstalling, then deleting the devnz directory, then emptying trash, then full power down Wink .

I can stay with 0.92.11 if need be, but obviously it's nice to run the latest and greatest Big Grin .

thanks in advance,

I reverted back to 95.11 because 95.14 just refuses to run for me. both gbpvrtray and config applications were not running properly or refusing to run. tray status was showing blank recording devices. Checked line 7 of config.xml and it shows default as mpeg playback decoder, same as prior versions. I playback mpegs on MVP's. Playback on monitor was working at one point with version 94.13 but I then later installed Nero and a DVD burner and at some point lost playback on the pc monitor. Will stick with 95.11 for now, dont have time to mess with it till Monday.

It sounds like some thing is broken with your install. Maybe time to unsintall, delete the gbpvr directory, then reinstall.

The upgrade usually works fine, but there is always the occasional person that has problems.

Turns out I didn't have several things installed, like .Net Runtime, and the DVD codec. So now I can record fine, but can't watch. I only use GBPVR for recording anyway, so that's fine. When I try to view live TV, I get a garbled frozen screen, and the sound garbles for a fraction of a second and stops also.

The tuner helper app works, though. It finds channels fine. And like I said, I can record channels fine, too. Just can't watch live TV.

So, I don't need anything more, but I'll be happy to answer any questions Sub might have.

thanks again,

This will most likely be caused by your MPEG2 decoder.

If you can reproduce the problem, then attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log, I should be able to tell you what the problem is.

I'm a parent of four children who probably watch WAY too much TV, but I have to say that I would have no idea what that parental rating even means. Okay, I get the "drugs" part, but is the remainder what you can understand only after you've taken the drugs? Again, I'm a parent of four children -- I can't afford drugs, so I just don't get the last part.

Anyway...

Thanks for the maintenance release -- it fixed my lost audio problem before I could even report it! Both the 9511 and 9514 upgrades went slicker than...slicker than...well, they went very slickly. Hmmm. Rolleyes

GBPVR system info intentionally left blank because I'm personally
insulted that you can't remember it from previous signatures.

Turns out the Nero InCd service was having trouble starting, so I disabled it. Don't know why it acted up. I removed Incd then tried another upgrade to 95.14 and it worked this time, everything normal. Was able to upgrade and keep pending recordings etc.

Machine runs 24/7 and has been stable as a rock, I am going to check the drives for errors next.

Hope this is of help to others who may have a problem too.

This is a prime example of what makes this job so hard. There is just too many combinations of hardware and software, and just too many things that could possibly go wrong.

Glad you got to the bottome of it though.
